christians-do u honestly believe a person can resurrect themselves? turn water into wine? as christianity was originally developed as a part of judaism (jesus was a jew after all...apparently) how can a god in human form be unacceptable to jews? i am an atheist (proper one!) and do not believe in any deities or gods, only in good and evil. i am genuinely interested in how people can be so bold in believing something that they will never see alive or dead, as my father was taken away from me when i was 9, is this the work of a genuine 'god'? i beg to differ. all religions dictate you must not prey to another god, yet the bible contradicts itself by declaring itself christian, but telling the story of judaism and in parts islam. please discuss, i am genuinely interested.

Im not a great military historian but off hand, I cant. For example, Alexander the Great is considered one of the greatest generals of all time (if not the greatest), but I dont think he was in as many battles as Muhammad.

Napolean probably was, and Im guessing Rommel & Patton were close. Any military historians who can shed some light here? General Lee almost certainly was as well now that I think about it, but holy cow, 26 battles, thats enough for 4 lifetimes, that easily a full time, cradle to grave career of murder.

Heres an Islamic source regarding the 26 battles. http://www.islam.com/chronology.htm

Someone just claimed this here.

I was wondering:

Does anyone here know of a single heterosexual, christian, married couple whose marriage ended because some guys got married?

Gays have been getting married for, what, over a year now....

How many heterosexual divorces has this caused?
Anyone have the numbers?

*snicker*

Seriously, every single day, it's always "OMG JOIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH! YOU ATHEIST, YOU'RE GOING TO HELL." Or "OMG SMOKING KILLS YOU."

Why don't people understand that I don't care what they think, and I already know everything they're telling me.

On several occasions I've noticed people give some important personal information such as their birthday, spouse's birthday, address, phone number, etc. and then ask to predict whether something good will happen regarding their situation (if they get a job, baby will be born healthy, etc). It's like they expect that, judging from the personal information they provide, people can look into the future and give them an answer.

I noticed that the people who ask these questions seem to be Indian. Is this some sort of superstition? I'm just really curious.
