die for ethical reasons, but since not ONE cure or potential cure has ever came from embryonic stem cells. that is kinda a fairy tale. although there have been NUMEROUS cures (i think 74or so) found from adult stem cells. the only reason there is such a push for the embryonic is because if any thing is found from them, they can patent it. they cannot if found form adult stem cells. it all about money.

Beka is absolutely correct. All the hype over stem cell research is dishonestly exaggerated. There have been NO significant advances that provide ANY hope for disease. Using stem cells from umbilical cords and adults has proven to be more promising.

You know they would take it and then come up with some justification as to why they didn't sin, but those other people ... shame shame. I am a Christian and I am all for stem cell research and i will be the first in line when they can safely fix me. God has given mankind the intelligence to do wonders, we should use our gifts to better mankind. If it s not in Gods ill for someone to be healed then it wont happen no matter what treatments they use.

They (meaning Fundies) say that embryos have souls. not in any respect recommendations that those used for stem cellular analyze are clusters of about 4 cells total. in addition they seem below the effect that man or woman stem cells are extra constructive. This ignores the actual incontrovertible truth that man or woman stem cells are *multipotent* - they could be able to grow to be a restricted type of different cellular sorts. Embryonic stem cells are *pluripotent* - they could be able to change into **any** cellular variety. it is why they seem to be a concepts extra valuable to medical analyze. in addition they say that man or woman stem cells have borne extra medical improvements. they don't seem to comprehend that this in basic terms might want to correctly be because there replaced right into a **ban on embryonic stem cellular analyze**. for sure you're gonna get extra effects from determination B once you're literally not allowed to attempt determination A! Addition: there is also a false impression that embryonic stem cells come from abortions. this in basic terms isn't authentic. they are harvested from the frozen embryos leftover from IVF remedies (IVF includes created countless embryos and implantiing one or 2 at a time until eventually it takes). If no longer used for stem cellular analyze, those leftover embryos might want to easily be destroyed. it is the further constructive determination: throwing them right into a medical incinerator, or using them to locate remedies for horrendous diseases?

I would rather die. Not because I want to die a painful death or anything but because there is something much more wonderful than this earth can offer that awaits me. I also cant justify hurting or killing someone else just so that I can live. That was something Jesus gave for me, and, well, I couldnt ask that of someone else. It is a huge sacrifice that was made.

I do believe that once an embryo is made, fertilized, whatever, it is a child. It has life and those cells are being killed. I DO NOT agree with that. EVER

the sadder fact is people dont realize that the source of embryonic stem cells are extra embryos from invetro fertilization and the like.

these embryos will never become kids in the first place!

better that they be put to some good use

"Murdered babies"? May I laugh? You people who are so against stem-cell reserach don't even know anything about it. First I'd like to point out that most people agree something has to be alive before it can be killed, or murdered. Second, all these babies are going to be "murdered" anyways... it's a matter of fact, embryos are removed in abortion clinics. What is up for debate is whether these embryos, which are already going to be destroyed one way or the other, should be used to discover helpful new medicines and thus save the lives of thousands of people who are already alive. Apparently you think it's better for these babies to just rot in the dumpster rather than use their sacrifice to save the lives of others. Cool.

You have the right name.
There is no such thing as "anti-stem cell people". you guys lie too much. There are people who do not want babies killed to extract stem cells that have not yielded any hopeful research so far. Adult stem cells have shown much promise. But "embryonic" stem cells have yielded nothing yet.

Recent studies have shown stem cells can cause brain tumors. Why take the chance of having one malignant disease cured only to become ill with another?

Sadly, what's done is done. I cannot save that child. So much of modern surgical knowledge comes from unethical work, or is founded in unethical work. Better to make the sacrificed life meaningful than to sacrifice two lives.

Besides, alive I can live to fight another day to stop this horrific practice.

And for people pointing out that the scientists use embryos that will be discarded as part of in vitro fertilization, that's why I oppose in vitro techniques -- the fact they make many and only implant two or three.

[note: please don't assume I'm christian, I'm an atheist.]
