I think that is so ridiculous that they do. I am a wiccan myself and am truly offended by what some people say. I always wonder why they think that. So please answer.

What exactly is there to be offended about?

Satanism is as valid a religion as Wicca, some people simply combine the two as they would Islam and Paganism, simply because some people see anything outside of their own belief as going against their belief, as many see Satan as a opposite to God, Satanism translates to opposing Christianity [ignorance of Satanism on their part].

Why would you say "people consider wicca satanic"? I do not think it is satanic. From my limited knowledge, it is about nature. People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Do not ask why you are judge all the while judging me and fitting me into a category as "people". People are never the same, we all have differences. Why do some people believe perhaps would have been a bit more accurate. And why, I suppose becasue some people are ignorant and judgemental. Enjoy your Wicca beliefs, at least you know what your beliefs are. And, at least you are not offended by the beliefs of others

Most people think of witchcraft as evil, and who is more evil than Satan? I imagine some people should remember the "good" witch from the Wizard of Oz.

Sorry that people have offended you - perhaps you could provide a website that would explain exactly what Wicca consists of.

The history of the church is to label the unknown as evil or satanic. The Christian church has been stealing ideas from wiccans and trying to edge out that religion by taking ideas for hundreds of years. The term "witch" has a negative connotation largely because of what the church has done to it. Or the pentagram. I wouldn't let it worry you too much. People say things like that because they don't know any better. You could try to correct them, or you could just ignore it. I think ignoring it is probably an easier route to take.

well some believe that Wicca is witchcraft like the Hollywood form of witchcraft. and also that anything that can be called a religion that is not the same as theirs is satanic. it is an extreme PROV but one many have. I feel that anyone should respect the belief of anther, and if some one is open to discussing the differences of beliefs, in a respectfull way, mostly good will come of it.

My Friend, ignorance has no power over you. Unlike the Wiccan way most other religions are not accepting and understanding of that which is not their way. It is the same misunderstanding and fear which had many women burned at the stake.
Don't waste anymore of your great energy on that which does not exist.
Blessed Be.

It's just years of brainwashing and libel spread by the medieval churches. A common reference is Exodus 22:18, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." This was translated in the King James era wrongly--intentionally. Exodus 22:18 really said, "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live."

I congratulate you on your decision. Many people have chosen so because they believe that similarities are just the same thing. I was[before my current belief] a wiccan, I realize its truth and power even, however so many others believe it is simply satanic destruction. Fools really.

The Wiccans draw power from the earth around them. The Draw it from the sky and the ground. It isn't supernatural, but natrual. It is used to help, to heal. You should never call it Saitnism.

Well, to be honest, the Bible condemns any form of witchcraft, calling it an abomination or something to be hated. Witchcraft in Christianity is something that is evil because the power comes from Satan instead of God. Even Anton LaVey, the founder of the Church of Satan, said that there is no such thing as "good" magick. Therefore, that is why Christians condemn witchcraft.
