Great men are they who see that spiritual thought is stronger than any material force, that thoughts rule the world."
Thoughts are free and subject to no rule. On them rests the freedom of man, and they tower above the light of nature...create a new heaven, a new firmament, a new source of energy from which new arts flow."
"Men fear thought as they fear nothing else on earth - more than ruin - more even than death... Thought is subversive and revolutionary, destructive and terrible, thought is merciless to privilege, established institutions, and comfortable habit. Thought looks into the pit of hell and is not afraid. Thought is great and swift and free, the light of the world, and the chief glory of man

sister by your name i came to an understanding that you are a christian.our thoughts are nothing but our heart.we think with mind and take decisions in soul.i want to tell you an example, for suppose you got a thought that you want to help poor that is a good thought but if in your back of mind you notice that a person is observing you and you like that person and you think this is the right time to capture his/her vision and your helping the poor this is bad.your intention was good but your back is something that's why god says always to stick on to truth.bowing down to truth is not going to a person and asking sorry realising what you did or thought was wrong and confessing it and then you will not stop till there you will make plans to come out of that thoughts or things that are making you not to stand on truth.if you keep doing this god will give you conscience which is nothing but discerning what is good what is bad.this discernment helps you even to recognise what kind of opinion other person is having.

as somebody has said there is nothing called absolutely good or absolutely bad. they are relative terms. instead of categorizing our thoughts as good and bad, lets look at them as effective or non effective in bringing peace of mind and happiness to self and to others around us. are they beneficial or harmful to self or others. if beneficial, our actions can be guided by those thoughts. if harmful, drop those thoughts.
people can easily manipulate and subtly force others to conform to their evil opinions. some are gullible and they easily get influenced by others' oratory. they will not have independent thinking. thats how people are trained in terrorist camps - to believe that there is good in their evil actions and the gullible believe those words and shut themselves out to any other opinion. thats how suicide bomber's psychology works.

What is important is that whatever tenets you follow, that should help in cleansing your heart. All other external actions , are mere aids in this end and by themselves cannot bring any good for you.

Some people do.

There is no good or evil unless you have a moral standard, and a God who sets that moral standard. Otherwise, good and evil is nothing but what YOU think it is (and that gets everyone nowhere fast).

we are to take "control" of our minds and not let it "run amuck" so to speak, because our minds left untamed can think up some pretty bizarre stuff (I have first hand experience) so the word of God teaches us to "take captive all imaginations" and to think on the things that are true, noble, right, pure, admirable, excellent & praiseworthy to think about those things...we are to becareful to guard our hearts too.
