Just curious if there is anyone else out ther from this school in Northants? I graduted in 1989 - were you teaching or studying there at that time? Or do you know the school?

i can understand how everyone has their ups and downs. what bothers me, though, is how for some people it just never works out; so no happy moments (or very few), a constant struggle, pain, you name it

(please don't write that everyone has their good and bad moments 'cause in some cases that's not so true.)

I have never talked with Satan. I have no idea what is an approved movie for me to watch.

Christians claim they know the truth and that Atheists are pawns of Satan, and heh, who am I a little girl to tell the big bad Christian that they might possibly be wrong.

So fellow Atheists, I'm sure at least one of you must have talked to the dark lord and asked what movies is it ok for us to watch?

What is it that a lady determines by looking at what kind of shoes someone is wearing? I've always known that shoes are a really critical part of a wardrobe...but recently I heard also that employers often pay attention to footwear. What is everyone going around looking at the ground these days?

Should we teach about diversity, different races and religion in school?

(Like my mom said "el que nada debe nada teme": in this situation this means is up to you to teach your own believes to kids at home)

That said, I think that teaching kids about cultural, racial and religous diversity is a must, and I would not be opposed to my son learning about: Latinos, Blacks, Whites, Asian, Mediterranian, Indians, etc... Or Asian culture, Latino Heritage, Australian aborigenes, etc Or religion for that matter, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, paganism, etc etc....

I have a friend who just recently told me that her bf is a child molester. He has to register wherever he goes. She does not have any children( thank God) but is determined to be with this man because she believes that "deep down" this man is a good person. I have not met him. She told me yesterday that she wants me to meet him. I told her that that was not a good idea. I have two children and I feel very uncomfortable with the idea of meeting a child molester. I would have a very hard time just saying "Hi" without reaching out and slapping him in the d a m n face! I am also trying to talk sense into her to see that this man is not good for her and he is sick. But, she is so freaking hard headed! Am I wrong? Am I being judgemental? Because I try not to judge people but I cannot help it in this case.

Why do you think that way. Jesus talks about intention being what is important.

There are so many expressions that are tamed versions:

Darn it! (Damn it!)
Jeez! (Jesus!)
Gosh darn it! (God damn it!)
Jimminy Cricket! (Jesus Christ!)

etc., etc.

So, does God not mind when you say the tame versions, but suddenly becomes punishing when you say the others?

i promise that if anyone can convince me as an athiest to become a christain that i will swope my earings for big cruisefixs, embrace chastity and clean church floors and toilets like a slave. Gosh it would be so nice to live forever not having to worry about anything just avoiding some sins and to just be happy doing as im told. I'm serious, i work as a waitress and i actually love being a servant, my friends think im kooky for it. My ears are big and open and some say god gave me unuasually big ears to listen but nothing i hear about religion makes any sense to me. What then am i missing then?
