The fact that you notice the misery says a lot about you. The fact that you then question your happiness says more. It seems you've been blessed with good things, so do what's in your power to lessen misery - it doesn't have to be a very great act, even small deeds of kindness go a long way in helping someone feel better. You can't help the whole world, but you can definitely reach out to those around you. And helping others brings the best kind of satisfaction.

Its not at all ok. What is causing this misery? The increasing divide between the rich and the poor. Rich are gluttoning more money and the poor are getting poorer. In Africa, people are dying of hunger, thirst, disease, and that too in large proportions. Still US spends billions of dollars on waging wars rather than helping those in misery.
Some will say, that US does send aid to such places, but, my argument is that the amount of aid sent relative to their ability to send is negligible. Those billions of dollars should be spent on helping people, so that US may be able to revive its lost reputation in the world. Believe it or not, after the wars which Mr. Bush has waged, America's reputation has turned upside down.
This is why America is under threat, its the fault of the president. More importantly, its the fault of people as well, who are quiet about it, who don't care because they are so entrenched in just enjoying their lives and payig no heed to what happens to others. Don't you realize that so many Americans have become so much materialistic, and considering the trend of crime, rape, abortion, prostitution, and divorce rates, US is slow poisning its ownself. The society is falling apart, morals have fallen apart. Don't you notice the chaos around you? Though everyone has money and facilities, but they are not content and neither happy. How many Americans are a part of a "family", 50% divorce rates would end up making a significant effect on how the newer generation thinks. Its a continuous decline, degradation.
Why don't you ponder over things around you, because its so simplet to imply all of the above and much more about what and why it is happening.

Misery is nothing but a comparison between 2 situations of 2 different groups of people living under a definite 'standard of living'.Misery existed during stone ages, bronze ages, iron ages till the modern times and will exist in the future. It is just a part of life.

This is actually a very good question i would like to ask. this definitley tells us how much love we have towards our brothers and sisters around the world. I feel 100% empathy for them and strongly feel that we should help the organizations or the people who are working in such places with donations atleast, if we can not help them directly. We need brotherly love these days, which is quite lacking in the society, where everyone are trying to be selfish.

The only way to be satisfied is to abstract everything. If you do that then you can justify any calamity with concepts, moving them around like so many chess pieces. Making an abstraction of misery and ignoring it, is a disease of the mind. I'll be damned if I'm satisfied.

FEELING satisfied is not what is important. What is important is DOING something to make the world a better place.
There are lots of things that need to be done to improve the world.
Work for stronger public education, properly funded. Work for a more peaceful world. Work to protect the environment.
Work to elect President Al Gore (again) in 2008.

Yes, it is totally OK. The misery we see around us is sometimes very depressing, you can buy a homeless Person a Hamburger and Fries and a Drink and give it to him. Don't talk to him just hand it to him and keep on walking. That makes it easier for him to accept it and does not embarrass him or her.

Seeing somebody without feet would not preclude a guy or woman's opt to whinge. they do exactly not do it in front of "Footless Freddy." As to why we whinge? the quick version: we are chasing the carrot on a stick referred to as happiness. The longer version: it quite is probable because of the sense of entitlement that comes after working 40 hours a week (in countries that in the time of basic terms require as plenty), mutually as dwelling in a capitalist society the place inherent wealth is flaunted (Paris Hilton), and would not look to require not common artwork. on the different hand, we are instructed repeatedly, that with not common artwork, you are able to become prosperous, yet this in simple terms isn't occurring for human beings. that's to not say I espouse socialism. i'm in basic terms chatting with why anybody is rarely happy with what they sense like they could desire to have executed by utilising now.

Misery is like illness,it stays for a while and then vanishes. had evry1 in the world be rich a lot of problems would have been created every1 wud hav started thinkin himself independent and would have forgotten the GOD ABOVE. then no one would have prayed to God and the number of offensive activities would have grown too.

The Good Samritan parable comes to mind. If you see someone in need, help. If you see hungry, cold needy poor people, help them. You would still be satisified and be doing the work of God. Just don't be impressed by your own wealth or conditions. It was a loan to you..... be wise with it.
So, be satisfied with what you have (from the word) and help others as you would want them to help you. (also from the word)
