How are you right with God? What makes you pleasing to God? What do we do that keeps us on the path to Heaven?

Consider a random-looking sequence of one million digits from 1 to 6. This sequence could have been generated using a computer, which generates a pseudo random sequence according to a predetermined mathematical formula. This sequence is not really random, but it appears random. This exact same sequence could have been generated by actually tossing a die one million times. There is no way to know the difference.

Similarly, one cannot determine whether life was a result of intelligent design or chance.

So, why are you people wasting your time arguing about that which cannot be determined?

I had this dream where I was in a dentist office. I told the dentist which tooth I needed pulled and she looked at it and said it had to be pulled right away, it was in pretty bad shape. Once she applied the anesthesia, almost without any effort, she pulled it out. The tooth was huge, and looked like bone, it was badly rotten. I had no pain whatsoever, and was glad it was already taken care of... any idea what this could mean?

Israel killed so many in children in Qana and in other cities in lebanon. How come americans claim to respect human rights and turn such a blind eye to the killing of innocent civilians by Israel?

In fact many americans were cheering Israel on and were glad to see Lebanese civilians die. Why the double standard?

I work in a well known company in the UK. Some of my workmates seem to be really gay but we can't decide who is the gayest. Can you help me choose from the following list:

Duncan
Paul
Mike
Adam
Jon
Pete
Dave
Jemima
Adrienne

My money is on Paul but who do you think?

Does right or wrong exist? Let me deal with the negative. If there was no right or wrong, God would be non-existant. Laws would be trivial. There would be "anarchy", as the "experts" classify it. If we are all equal and there is no God or morality. Then we are all "gods" . The world is simply a battle ground for us "gods" to wage war. The dominate "god" shall prevail and rule. Yes, it is survival of the fittest. Mercy, and love are evil because they inhibit the process of "domination". Hatred and contempt are good because they drive "domination". Not to say that love or hate hold any tangible significance in a Godless world, rather they represent weakness and strength respectively. My friends this is the "Lutherean Doctrince" , in very vulgar form I admit. Now I expect to hear various forms of the Lutherean Doctrine coming from you , the responders. How can you tell if your answer is Lutherean Doctrine "rehash"? Simple, anything in your answer that resembles my essay, is "L.D"

I have notices some people get thumbs down even if their answer is good. They get a thumbs down when others with the same answer do not. Do some people do it just because they don't like a particular person??

If a person appears "clean cut", works a responsible job, raisies a happy family, and just has a good personality overall, is it acceptable for their vice to be weed smoking?? I am not talking about the 15 year old punk smoking to get attention or the 30 year old loser in his Mom's basement. I contribute to society in a very positive way, but I just have to smoke everyday. What do you think?

My father is the very first I confess to. He still accepts me as his daughter and love me no matter what... but he told me that I must be careful, not everyone is willingly enough to accept me with open hand. What do you think then? I enjoy my life as bisexual and I don't like to hide this kind of truth...

PS: My father also told me that my mom was also bisexual herself... is it merely coincidence? Or is bisexuality has something to do with my genetics or bloodline?

Ok, so there is a woman in Minnesota running for US House of Represenatives as a Republican. She is quoted in this weeks Rolling Stone as saying Evolution has never been proven.

The question I have for all of you, is would that be a deciding factor in how you vote for someone, their beliefs about Evolution.

Me personally, I hear someone doesn't believe in Evolution, I wouldn't vote for them.

Your thoughts on this topic, voting based on Evolution belief.

I don't understand this. Africa is full of famine, pestilance and starvation. Many people can't afford to even have one child yet they breed like crazy and end up having 10. If they can't afford them, then why bring em into this world. Also, why do they expect the West to provide aid to them, why doesn't the government stop being so corrupt or the people raise up and take over. I don't think we should aid anyone that doesn't show a sign of change.

I invented a super low cost GPS (if not free, how can it be done you say, get me an appointment with them and I will cut you in), along with a long/lat driven SQL database that has a great “conceptional" fit with the new Yahoo services: tagging, local business development, consumer travel, directions and mapping, child safety, NO privacy concerns.
Guaranteed that you are found ONLY when you or yours wants to be found or needs something. This GPS has been designed to be delivered to the masses so everyone could have the benefits of satellite travel, ultimately leading to less oil dependency and a realistic reduction in emissions, outside the Global Warming controversy, how can you argue with either. The satellites are there anyways why not put them to work for everyone. This is no bs, if I have to cut off my ear to prove it I will.
This pulls a lot of things together, from virtual to reality. Yahoo could use the shot in the arm too!!

One of the things that irritates me about Yahoo answers is that, all too often, people asking questions have already made their minds up about the answer and simply pick the one that agrees with their own opinion, rather than taking on board new knowledge. If people have already made their minds up, why do they come here to ask the question?

Then there's that 'voting' thing that happens to unresolved questions. Time and again I see answers being selected by majority vote that are a load of old tosh. Then everyone who voted for the answer can congratulate themselves that they were 'right'.

Democracy is a great thing for turning people's opinions into policy, but opinons and facts are not the same thing. I'm not against relativism but when people take this too far they wind up saying things like 'Such-and-such is just a theory, and why shouldn't my theory be just as good?' as if all theories should be considered equals.

Does Yahoo! Answers encourage this kind of woolly thinking?
