A good point was raised.... why would i want to.
I want to raise my child to be christened because i do believe in god, i live in a christian country and i want my child to be the same as everyone else and not stand out like a sore thumb at communion confirmation etc. Also its the done thing, everybody i know is christened

I dont think i need to attend mass to be a good christian. I try to live my life as best i can and to help people where i can. How would my daughter turn out bad if she is brought up in a loving enviroment with good morals with god but without the church.

I do not have any ailment preventing me from attending mass. I am busy in my life but who isn't so thats no excuse. I choose not to attend as i prefer to spend my sundays with family, shopping, golfing or on a day trip.

it is like going to the store to buy a loaf of bread and not wanting to pay for it.
if you want the blessing, have enough respect to be a part of it.
He should make a big deal of it.

Suggest to your priest that his judgement may be fallacious on the grounds that somebody who couldn't attend Mass because of an advanced, non-curable illness might be just as faithful as someone who does attend Church regularly, so he should not always leap to the assumption that such a thing is ALWAYS wrong. Also, there ARE some churches that will baptize children even if one of the parents isn't even catholic. (I know this because I was one of those children.) If one local chuch won't do it, another one still might...or even another priest might do this in your regular church, but you may have to take it up with somebody who ranks higher in your diocese.... the bishop, maybe. It's worth a shot, at least.

Go to a Church where they don't feel being attentive to God's laws are important. Nobody is forcing anybody to be a Catholic why do you want to force him to be a hypocrite? I also think you want your child to be baptized so you can say "There, now I am a good Mother--I have even had my child Baptized" I think it's for SHOW and nothing else

Why have your child baptized Catholic and subject to all the requirements of the faith, when you don't plan to bring him up in the faith?
You're missing the whole point of being Catholic.
Your priest is absolutely right. Wake up.

He has a point..will you be taking your child to church once the christening is over? If you aren't a practicing christian why do you want to use their facilities...

You need to sort it with the priest, or go to another church, that's what I did because I didn't agree with our priest so I went to my husbands old church and the priest there couldn't have been more helpful.

I think you should, after all it's not about your soul right now it's about the child. Ask another priest

your child won't grow up a good christian/catholic if you do not lead a good christian life yourself, even if they are christened... how will they learn to be a good christian if their parents do not practice?!
