I know that God has called me to be a missionary, but what if my parents don't support it because going on missions affects my athletics which I want to go to college on a scholarship for? How do I convince them to let me give up a few weeks each year to missions?

Hypothetical question. What type of proof are we talking about here? For me to believe in creationism, I would need carbon dating to trace dinosaur bones back only 6000 years. I would need to understand how so many species of animal can exist at one time, how dinosaurs affected the food chain, and why Homo erectus went extinct.

Please answer this hypothetical question.

It has only been within the last 6 months (out of 6 years!) that one particular coworker has alienated all other workers in the office, but for one other chinese lady. It started with not passing along pertinent information to others, burping extremely loud (she never did it in the past), making sure she was never in the break room with english speaking employees, and now, the constant Chinese language, verbal, and on her personal radio (this is a new thing too). We have asked politely for them to speak English. Her response was "No, it is my right. You are harrassing me!) We are so tired of walking on eggshells with this woman, and the management do not want to touch this for fear of a discrimination suit. Anyone have any good advice?

I've recently put together a bunch of things I've always known about myself and think that I am probably a lesbian. I recently ended a 7 year relationship with a man, and want to be by myself for a while...and then, I really, really want to date women.

I know that in hetero relationships there is a lot of pressure on women to be very thin and perky-breasted, and to sort of look as close as we can to a Playboy bunny. Are there any of these types of body image issues in lesbian relationships? I realize that some of this would depend on the people in the relationship. Personally, the woman I am incredibly attracted to right now is rather plush, and I think she's super hot.

I just wondered because this is a whole new thing for me, and it's scary to be realizing your sexual orientation at 29 and then realize that lots of the dating/sex stuff you knew about may no longer apply. Thanks very much for any advice! :-)

I'm an Atheist, but this is pretty disgusting to me as an American. In the late 1880s the US government tried to shut down the Mormon Church. Total violation of first amendment rights.

Ok, try to follow the problem. Now, of course, most rational people read this an immediately dismiss the possiblity God could have wrote it, but lets suppose your stupid, and stil entertain the possiblity.

Heres the problem, according to the aya, a man is to beat his woman if he feels she might dessert him. It doesnt say "you may beat her if you chose", so a pious Muslim has no chose but to take this as a literal command to beat her upon his slightest fear of dessertion.

Now, if this man is not insecure, no problem, but almost every single muslim man is. Heres the problem...the moment you beat a woman, even a muslimah, you are left with what feeling? An EVEN GREATER FEELING THAT SHE WILL LEAVE YOU!!! So, what does this trigger? ANOTHER BEATING!!!

Where does it stop then?
