Slayer's new album, Christ Illusion was recently banned in India at the behest of the general secretary of the Mumbai-based Catholic Secular Forum (CSF)

The album's cover art depicts "Christ with a missing eye and amputated arms." He added, "we also condemn the track, 'Skeleton Christ' as the lyrics are an insult to Christianity."

The CSF also sent a memorandum to Mumbai's police commissioner, adding that the album "will affect the sensibilities of the Muslims on the track 'Jihad' and secular Indians who have respect for all faiths."

The CSF also protested against the Indian release of "The Da Vinci Code". This led the Censor Board to instruct Mumbai-based Sony Pictures in India to include a notice to accompany the film to explain that it was a work of fiction.

Notice how there were no violent protests, or riots, or arson?

Notice how no one was killed, assaulted, or threatened with violence?

Is this a good example of how peaceful diplomacy can be effective?

Its a new bible for young ppl with comics in the back that address the "truth". You have got to read the comic on evolution....they actually claim that it is a racist agenda! They also claim that scientific evidence supports a young earth and flood. The comic ends with the poor atheist kid having no where to go but jesus and they pray together. The creationist kid who "leads him to christ" makes some comment about how it is impossible to be objective when it comes to science and how you can't have a rational conversation with the dumb atheist kids. There's also a little ditty in there about how deceitful the human mind is and how god understands and it's okay. Oh help me. It's horrifying.

I'm fuming mad. What are your thoughts?

i know someone who has one of the worst lucks...she doesnt have much money, has 3 children at a very young age, father had a stroke, broke up with husband, no regular job... and worse of all... she's a faithful christian!.... i guess her god wasnt real after all. oh i forgot to mention, she doesnt do well with school either(maybe because of the children[blessings anyone?]) and is at least 30 pounds overweight. her debt on me and their house is not going down soon too. poor person.

What do you feel are good ideas for a parent or parents to work with their adult children to help them find a husband or wife.
I am not asking those who wouldn't help their children. I am only asking those who would.

These are some ways other people have tried.

Parents advertising and interviewing people online and off for their sons/daughters.

Parents going to a church's single's ministry to meet people for their son/daughter.

Parents arranging marriages.

Parents traveling to different countries, etc.

Those are just a few ways I have heard of parents getting involved in their children's lifestyle choices.

I only want to hear suggestions that include the son's/daughter's permission.

Do you know how people did this in Biblical times? If so what scriptures?

If this is not something you would do, please do not answer this question. I already know that this is not for everyone. Please be respectful of other's rights to choose.

Ok. Problem, not a big problem but still. My friends want me to go to the club with them. It's a lesbian club. YAY. But I am not that good of a dancer. Actually I stink at dancing. this is primarily to those who are spiritually/metaphysically blind, that is, that have *NO* sense whatsoever of the "supernatual".

I see people asking and answering, who insist that metaphysical things, ghosts, souls, God, ect... all that stuff, are absolutely, certainly not real.

to these people... how can you be so sure?

how can you be SO confident that you see everything there is to see, to declare this in such a way?

those who believe it, are not (generally) claiming it has scientific evidence, but simply at most, that they have observed it.

if you were born blind, would it be legitimate for you to claim that color didn't exist?

if you are utterly unable to perceive these things whatsoever... how can you be so confident they in fact do NOT exist? rather than simply reinforcing the fact that theres no evidence to known science, or within current scientific method.

so where does this confidence in the non-existance of something you can't see at all, come from?
