I now that crazy propaganda is easy to get mad at. The comic does make some powerful accusations that are borderline hate speech. But if you become angry at all the religous people and there propaganda it's like you become one of them. It's a really weird feeling. What you have to do is just hope that the world will eventually come to its senses and stop fueding over outdated ideas. Or at least that all of the religious zealots will end up killing each other in the end. If all these adults (and children) need some kind of imaginary friend to get them through life, whatever, thats there own ignorance and insecurity. There will always be an opposite side to a story. If there wasn't, who would we have to make fun of!
For once I would like to have a rational discussion with one of these "evangelists" even though that is intelligentally impossible. I want to hear what they would say when I asked, "Well, if you don't believe that everything came from nothing (Big Bang) then where did God come from? If God has a supposed plan for everyone's life does that mean that he makes people murder others? And had that planned out? Why would an all powerful god need to create millions of inferior creatures with only one purpose in life . . . to worship the all powerful? How pious, self-centered, and conceded is that?"
We just have to sit back and wait for all these psychos to kill eachother and leave the world in our hands. We aetheists should really get together more to discuss these issues.

If you want change in the world, keep it in your pocket. Most of those nuts will die out if people would stop making them into a spectacle and instead of spending money entertaining their kids, spend some time talking to them.
This is what happens when kids are put in schools where all the ages are locked together and the younger kids don't interact with adults to see how to solve problems in the real world.
The solution is secular homeschool. Or at least secular small schools with lots of adult interaction. Unfortunately, we have already had several generations of people who barely scraped through 'football' high schools and went directly to Rush Limbaugh University while driving the oil trucks.
I think you should just tune in, turn on, and drop out. It's a lot worse than you think, and religion isn't the half of it.

I'm not mad. I just let myself sit back and be amused. I thought that rock music one was hilarious. I think some of the comics send an interesting message though. It shows the kids running away from everything and even being corrupted a little before they get out of the questionable situation. What does this say about them? That they're too weak of will to hold onto their beliefs and have to avoid any hint of temptation lest they be led astray? I wouldn't want that picture of mental frailty to be the poster child of my religion. (Note: This is not saying that Christians are like this. I'm only talking about the kids in the comics. If you wish to extend this beyond that scope, it is by your own choice.)

I understand the anger, but I've grown used to the lies and repetitive stuff. The only way to convince someone is calmly to talk to them about the evidence.
It is really incumbent on anyone who believes this debate is important to become well-versed in the reasons that people develop for rejecting scientific data. The book "Why Darwin Matters: The Case Against Intelligent Design" by Michael Shermer gives an excellent summary of their logical fallacies and the evidence that refutes their drivel.
And by the way, most people still won't listen. Go for the small percentage. And pray that we don't have a Christian Taliban-equivalent arise in this country.

What uphill battle? We have the high ground. They've lost on evolution, so they decided to go after cosmology and call it evolution. Sure, they still fire off a few of their "make evolution sound wierd" salvos, but they know a direct assault is implausible.
As for the comics, let their kids have them, Your children will be more fit.

The human mind is VERY deceitful...evolution did not design it to perceive and understand 'the truth' but rather to survive, which often involves lying or misrepresenting/twisting the truth until it is unrecognizable. Politicians and religious leaders do this all the time.
Your video example is one of millions going back to man's beginnings.

I'm a Christian, I read your question, my kids DON'T & WILL NOT have this Bible you speek of. As a Christian, I can't see how it would be acceptable to print this, as a parent, I would refuse to allow my kids to have this Bible. My kids are good kids, they don't like knowingly putting down anyone so I don't think they would want it anyway.
Not all Christians are immature, and narrow minded.

I wouldn't have a problem with allowing them to wallow in their ignorance if it didn't affect everyone else. If someone wants to believe that crap then they should go live in a cave and pray to god to provide for them. I'm living in a progressive society, there's no place here for crap like that.
Thanks for the link!

im reading a book about changing minds
i just read the section about charles darwin
there is much resistance over the last 150 years
evolution IS the dominant scientific view of the Origin of the species,
dont worry about what they do, worry about our side,
worry about evidence for our side
the mind of the person who doesnt accept evolution in 2006 is a crazy mind, with a built up resistance due to years and years of abuse
trust me, changing them on evolution isnt a priority, its getting them away from the cult they are in,

It is horrifying. I am becoming more and more worried about the US. I saw the movie, Jesus Camp, two weeks ago and I still haven't recovered. See my 360 blog for more info on the film, if interested.
