I received a Christian e-mail with this messsage and don't know what to make of it. If I don't believe in a judgmental god, how do I apply to this to my day-to-day life?

The way I interpret that is you should act is if someone is watching you, someone you would never do anything bad with them present. If you don't believe in God, then the best way to apply this to your life is to imagine your parents or maybe your kids if you have any constantly keeping an eye on you. Would you do certain things if your mom was watching? I don't mean stuff that's considered ok, but like stealing, cursing, or lying. That's how I would take the e-mail if I didn't believe in God, but I do so that's my best guess!

Easy. Throw away any critical thinking, logic, reason, and reliance on evidence and fact that have infiltrated your life. Stop having original thoughts, and only parrot what your local pastor or some TV preacher tells you what you should think and say. Ignore all of that evidence that screams to the logical side of your brain that this is all self-contradictory nonsense dredged up by ignorant savages thousands of years ago to explain thunderstorms and leprosy -- you don't need that evidence any more, all you need is mindless worship of a make-believe god (and, of course, by proxy his "representatives" here on earth).
Best of luck with the lobotomy.

I think it means, if "God Existed", he is our father and loves us, he wants whats best for us and for us to live a life that we will feel proud of. & if he is our loving father of course we want to make him proud of us and try our best to do what's rite. Of course this wouldn't mean he wouldn't forgive us if we make mistakes, but there is a difference between trying to live a life thats Christian and making mistakes then being forgiven, than living a life with no morals or rules with no thought of rite from wrong and expecting the same forgiveness.
Also if he is our father and creater, he would know whats best for us, maybe he tried to communicate this through the bible and ten commandments....maybe he knows that if we live a life of breaking these rules, we can't have the inner peace and happiness that we all want and he wants for us.
Wow....thanks for asking that question, it caused me to realize things that I thought I had forgotten.

Live your life and be responsible for your actions, decisions, the way you treating other people. You must answer to higher power, to your higher self. Find peace and endless love in praying for others. The well being of others, your soul and spirit should become your priority number one.
Spread the seed of love, spirituality, acceptance, tolerance, forgiveness ......

In answering your question, you want to know how to live life as if God existed? My answer is that it is up to you how you want to live your life, I feel the presence of the Lord and know that he knows that it is my choice as to how I ,or anybody else wants to live their lives, and how we decide to choose living a good or bad life, he is a just God and that is the reason why he gave us common sense to decide to believe in him or not, is your choice.

According to christianity, if you live your life as though god exists, you're living in fear and doing things that the god tells you to because you're afraid you won't get into heaven.

Not exactly altruistic now is it?

Maybe it means to periodically yell out, "Hey you pervert! Stop watching me!", every few minutes.
