They happen a lot. Any time a group of Catholics leave the Church and start their own version of it is another schism. There is a schismatic church in my town in fact. They say that they are the true Catholics and that the actual Catholic Church has fallen since Vatican 2.

Of course there is. Always. Consider that back in the first century, there was only one unified form of Christianity that God approved of. He had very concrete guidelines about how he was to be worshipped.
Today we have so many divisions and sects within Christiandom, all caused by people taking on many pagan and unchristian practices, and being accepted by the Catholic Church.
The sad thing? God's standards have never changed.

Sure!
The catholic church had as many as three popes at the same time .... condemning each other to hell .. anything can happen in the Cult who's motto is "We Never Change".

It is not only possible. It has been happening and will continue to happen until they realized what Jesus warned them about using his name and saying he is the Christ. They never take a careful thought about what Jesus said.

I suppose so because when Jesus said "When I return will I find any Faith left?" I think he was talking about these times and he was talking about the true Faith
