The harder you try to do good, the harder Satan will try to drag you down. He doesn't need to worry about the evil people - they are already in his pocket. So when everything is falling down around me, I just think that I must be doing something very right to get Satan's attention. And God never leaves you, just keep reaching out.

Satan doesn't need to drag down the people that are already there with him. He works hardest on the people that are growing in Christ.
You'll see in the Bible that the 3 times Satan tempted Jesus in the desert, He resisted by using scripture. Use scripture to resist the devil. James says:" Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you." You can's run to get away from satan, but you can use Jesus name (outloud) and satan will run from you.
If you have Jesus, then you have his power over satan. Find scripture that you can go to when you are having these attacks. One I like for most occasions is Psalm 91. I just remember 9-1-1 Psalm 91:1 + Pray the psalm and put yourself in the place of the person writing it. God will protect you, just claim the blood of Jesus.

It is okay sister, when you child falls will you pick him up or let him get back up on his own? what is more beneficial for the strength of that child, to carry them and not let them grow or to fall and gain wisdom which is more valuable than gold? Spare the rod and you will spoil the child, remember that the lord our god is always in control. He will not give you more than you are able so be of good cheer for the lord chastises those he loves. Satan is a tool like ourselves, he tempted Jesus so we are not excused from his lies. That is why you must put on the whole armor of our salvation and march into battle. Only by the fire can we become stronger, i know it is painful but fight on, when it is all over you will marvel at what you have become and wish for more.

I feel the same way right now. I am reading a really good book called "The Gospel According to Job" by Mike Mason. It is a wonderful book that really enlightens the Christian struggle. Just remember even if you don't know the reason that you are going through the things you are, God does and he will always be there to bring you out of them in His time.

It's because you let yourself feel that way.
I'm not trying to be harsh, and I'm not saying that Satan isn't trying to drag you down. But we can let ourselves be fooled into thinking God isn't there. When it feels like He's left us, that is a lie of the enemy. God said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you"
Read Psalm 139. I love it, and it encourages me a lot when I'm feeling down. I wouldn't be able to pick out a specific verse for you, because the whole psalm is beautiful. You need to read it.
THink of all the promises in the Bible that God is with you, that He's your refuge and strength, your very present help in times of trouble. He says those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength.
I know exactly what you're feeling because I've been through it so many times. I'm trying to learn to just persevere in these times and remember that i can overcome it. You should also read James chapter 1. These things keep coming to me suddenly, as I'm trying to type something else, so you should read them. It could be what the Lord wants to say to you.
Email me if you want to ask me about my experiences when i've felt this way. I've actually been going through it recently. I would love to talk to you more about it.
Just keep praying, reading the Bible, and resisting the attacks of the enemy. When you recognize something as a spiritual attack, remember that you have the authority to come against that in the name of Jesus.
God bless you. I hope I've been able to help

This is why: Because Satan wants you anywhere except closer to God. When you double your efforts, the devil doubles his. This is just the fact of things.
Here is what you can do. Say, out loud, "Get behind me, Satan. In the name of Christ Jesus, I rebuke you." You must do this in Christ's name, or else the devil will not flee.
He will return, in time, so you need to say it whenever appropriate.
This is what else you can do: Ask God to protect you from his enemy. Ask him in humility, and let him know that you feel the devil is hounding you and that you are no match for the dark lord's powers. Acknowledge that God is the only one more powerful than Satan, and ask him, if it is his will, to build a hedge around you and keep you safe from the pull of darkness.
God does not leave you when you need him most. God is with you always, but perhaps your decision to keep the problem in your own hands, and not ask God's protection, is keeping God's power outside of your life. In order to receive God's power, you must ask for it in humility.
Also, God may withdraw certain feelings from your life--the sweetness of contemplating him, the positive lift you get from loving the Lord and helping others through his grace--so that you may learn to serve him even when the reward does not seem to be immediate. What God wants is steadfast, strong, and courageous servants--and in order for us to gain these qualities, we must sometimes feel bereft of the things and feelings that we used to have regarding God. You are useful to God's purposes when you seek and love him in all circumstances, no matter how you feel and no matter what is going on.
You will feel better in time. That is, the positive feelings do indeed return. They may return more quickly if you ask God to teach you to be grateful for his presence in your life even when you don't feel good.
If you are interested, St. John's book "The Dark Night of the Soul" details in precision what one undergoes when God is purifying one's soul. One can feel barren, abandoned, and all sorts of similar stuff. This is essential for our sanctification--because if serving God felt good all the time, everyone would do it...and there would be no courage, fortitude or wisdom gained from feeling all good, all the time. Moreover, we would be of less use to others when they were experiencing a dark night. The only reason that I am able to say what I'm saying to you, in an effort to encourage you, is because I have undergone it myself. What if you reached out and no one could help? But there are those who can help provide you with hope, since there are those of us out here who have endured dark nights with gratitude and humility.
May God bless you during your trials.

I honestly don't know, but I will pray for you tonight. Sleep well knowing one more soul cares for you - human to human. I have gone through dark periods when it seemed like God was nowhere to be found. It took good friends and caring people to help me keep faith. It turns out he never left me, I was just looking in the wrong places.

There are times when unknowingly we become busy with life and the stresses of work, family, and relationships ... or we are in conflict with others; or are disobedient to the things God wants us to be doing .. and any of these things "will grieve God's spirit". At the same time, it can be that the feeling we have that He isn't there ..... has nothing to do with sin. It is a test of faith that all of us as Christians face from time to time. What we do is learn to continue loving and trusting Him, obey, worship Him, and read His word even when we don't have a sense of His presence in our lives. It is hard to go through, and even painful sometimes, but it is so important in order for our faith to be developed. When I went through it, I had no idea it was normal for a Christian to experience this, to test my faith so that I would learn to trust Him more. God hid his face at times even with his disciples. Isaiah 45:15
I'm going to type out a portion of a chapter of a book I read which I'm hoping will be helpful to you.
{{"The most common mistake we sometimes make today is seeking an 'experience' rather than seeking God. They look for a feeling, and if it happens, they conclude that they have worshiped. Wrong! In fact, God often removes our feelings so we won't depend on them. Seeking a 'feeling', evening the feeling of closeness to Christ, is not worship. When you are a baby Christian, God gives you a lot of confirming emotions and often answers the most immature, self-centered prayers - so you'll know He exists. But as you grow in faith, He will wean you of these dependencies. Yes, He wants you to sense His presence, but He's more concerned that you 'trust' Him than that you 'feel' Him. Faith, not 'feelings' pleases God. How do you praise God when you don't understand what's happening in your life and God is silent? How do you stay connected in a crisis without communication? How do you keep your eyes on Jesus when they're full of tears? You do what Job did -- "Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised'. So, tell God exactly how you feel. Pour out your heart to God. Unload every emotion that you're feeling. Job did this when he said, "I can't be quiet! I am angry and bitter. I have to speak'. He cried out when God seemed distant: "Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God's intimate friendship blessed my house.' God can handle your doubts, anger, fear, grief, confusion and questions. Trust God to keep His promises. During times of spiritual dryness you must patiently rely on the promises of God, not your emotions, and realize that He is taking you to a deeper level of maturity. Also, remember what God has already done for you. If God never did anything else for you, He would still deserve your continual praise for the rest of your life because of what Jesus did for you on the cross. God's Son died for you! This is the greatest reason for worship. Jesus gave up everything so you could have everything. He died so you could live forever. That alone is worthy of your continual thanks and praise."}}
[Purpose Driven Life, Chapter 14]
I hope this helps you and you realize from what 'most' everyone has said here today that "God loves you". He is still there for you, He hears all your prayers, and sees your tears. Keep your joy! {{{Hugs 4 you}}}
The Lord has hidden himself from His people, but I trust Him and place my hope in Him. Isaiah 8:17 [TEV]
