"Allah" is a universal Arabic word for God. It's not only reserved for Islam. Coptic Christians in Egypt refer to God as "Allah".

I bet you didn't know that now, did you?

tweenthelines: You have a valid point, but remember, I was solely referring to the name and nothing else. My point was that people who write negatively about "Allah", thinking that it's exclusively Islam, may be offending Arab Christians too...

Sword / Lord: Islam believes that the God of Christianity is the same God of Islam. But I would agree with you that they are not, if Jesus was the Son of God, and if Jesus himself was considered God. In those cases, He's not the same God. Good point.

Yeah, actually I thought that was the case, because I heard that Muslims believe in the same God we do, but they call Him Allah, so I figured that the name Allah was probably used by some Christians too. Now I know for sure. Thanks for letting us know!

Yes we know that , but the Muslim god is not the Christian God.. The word may be generic, but when the Muslim says allah, he is talking about someone totally different from the Christian God
Jesus, Jehovah, Holy Spirit = 1 God
Father, Son, Holy Spirit = 1 God

You make me smile. Yes, I was aware, but here is wher the real issue lies.

What character qualities is one attaching to their God? So long as Islam is attaching qualities to their god that are not in sync with the teachings of the Holy Bible and or the teachings of Jesus Christ, then they are worshiping an all together different god than the God of CHRIST-ianity.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
Good point. I do think it is important, particularly in such matters of faith to be specific and not speak in simple generalities.
