"Jewish people are so cool, those guys crack me up!"
I believe it would be.
Would you take offense?

religious 'beliefs'?

If the hypocrites 'believed', they wouldn't repeatedly marry and divorce as though it were going out of style, and would never divorce in the first place, now would they?

Why is it so bad in the eyes of God for a person to live his life doing Good things for people in order to get into heaven? If your motivations are pure and unselfish then shouldnt you be expected to do as many good things for mankind as you can with the hope that these things will be judged good and earn you a place in heaven? Please explain your thinking i would like to know your thoughts on this.

Can I say:

"If I find it difficult going to sleep, I start reading a book or something"

Instead of:

"If I find it difficult to go to sleep, I start...".

I mean, shall we bring the two infinitive forms or can we use gerund?

Tnx!

I got booted out of the Army after that Abu Graib stuff, and I'm looking for a new job. It sounds like what we did in the Army is nothing compared to what Christians used to do to people. When did torture and murder in the name of Christ get a bad name?

When I came to the UK in 1968 there was a lot of hardship involved in settling in a new country.
This was not at all unexpected.
I accepted cold and the dresscode, the neighbourhood, the workplace, the new customs, as I wanted to make a new life here.

Now people come to the UK expecting it all on a plate.
Now housing, jobs and income too are provided to the new immigrant.
Anyone interested in facts can contact the local authorities in their area.

It is high time the migrant, especially economic migrant, was told that if they wish to settle in the UK it would be on the terms of the local communities.

The size of the church directly translates to the size of the pastors car and home.
And why at every sermon at every church I've been to have a peice on why giving money to the church is so important?
Its a booming business isnt it?
Just as L Ron said, If you wanna make some money, start a religion.

Some people say "No I wasn't evolved" while others say "There is no God"

and the response is something like "well just because you don't believe it doesn't mean its not there" or something like that. Then its "don't you see the obvious around you".

So question, is God obvious. If so why doesn't everyone believe in God.

Is evolution obvious? If not, then what tests would we perform that would prove that evolution did or did not happen?

*logic* sorry maybe too early for you

Jesus said to love God with all our heart and soul and others as we love ourself-till we let the Messiah into our heart to forgive our sins and become our friend-we will miss the most important thing in life-salvation and the power to be all we can be--

sow good seeds for tomorrows needs

once my dream was to get $any way-hurt cheat or steal-and out of it -i was so empty and hurt inside (because we reap what we sow-i had money and my reputation taken away from me-i lived with lots of money as a rich Jewish guy-girls galour-but inside empty-I decided to commit suicide -tired of hurting others and being hurt.

then the love of Messiah Jesus touched me-as an elderly lady-shared the gospel with me-and instead of literally pushing her away-or tearing up the gospel tracts in her face-i thought be nice-as for my Jewish bubi (Yiddish grandma)- soI prayed-Jesus im sorry for all my sins-come into my heart, help me and be my friend-amen-Revelation3vs19&20

Lets say a child rapist, torturer and murderer kills a man's kid, the killer has killed dozens of children and babies. He never gets caught but is truly "repentant" (whatever the heck that means) when he dies and gets into heaven (when depending on what christian faith you are, stait to heaven or at judgement day).

So, hypothetically, the killer and torturer of these children, gets to be in heaven with his victims. And then the families mothers and fathers who weeped in agony and pain over losing their children for a lifetime get to be in heaven with the perpetrator as one big happy family? Or perhaps some of the parents understandably lost their faith in God, or never believed in him and then they go to hell while the child killer is in heaven with their children?

The evangelical Christian dogma says that this scenario is possible.
If there is a God like that, he is neither just, nor wise or even good.
If you are a person who believes this, that is sick thinking.

There was a question posted recently asking if god would accept us whether we believe in him or not (it was not my question). Those that claimed that god has infinite compassion and forgiveness and would love and accept us no matter what, received several thumbs down. Why would such positive thinking receive negative feedback? What kind of god do people expect to meet? Do some people expect god to possess human attributes, be quick to judge and just dismiss us because we MIGHT have made a mistake? I dont understand the rationality behind those choices. If god has infinite love and compassion why would he allow anyone to burn for all eternity. Yes I know we are all responsible for our actions but does it not make more sense if god allowed us several chances to reach enlightenment. Would someone please explain why those comments received thumbs down?

If I go back 5 million years and saw the species that genetically is linked to human beings and chimpanzees, and I made the subjective comment "oh, that looks like a monkey"; in what way shape or form is my comment a scientific fact?

Rather, would it be the hypothesis that we are testing, the genetic link between that monkey looking species, to the human being.

If this test was run, based perhaps on a fossilized animal, a fossilized monkey looking animal, and we were able to confirm that it is indeed a common ancestor,

would it still change the fact that saying it looks like a monkey is not an objective scientific fact, I could say it looks like a horse, so what, or a unicorn or a pony.

The point is, saying something looks like something doesn't make it a scientific fact.

Do you agree with my asssement of the situation. Why or why not.
