Lets say a child rapist, torturer and murderer kills a man's kid, the killer has killed dozens of children and babies. He never gets caught but is truly "repentant" (whatever the heck that means) when he dies and gets into heaven (when depending on what christian faith you are, stait to heaven or at judgement day).

So, hypothetically, the killer and torturer of these children, gets to be in heaven with his victims. And then the families mothers and fathers who weeped in agony and pain over losing their children for a lifetime get to be in heaven with the perpetrator as one big happy family? Or perhaps some of the parents understandably lost their faith in God, or never believed in him and then they go to hell while the child killer is in heaven with their children?

The evangelical Christian dogma says that this scenario is possible.
If there is a God like that, he is neither just, nor wise or even good.
If you are a person who believes this, that is sick thinking.

Oh, CHristians, I know you're not reading it.
I know it's a waste of time to draw up that hypothetical scenario with the purpose to provoke thought about the ethics of your religion and your God.
You don't think.

Only God know what things influence a person, biochemical imbalances, bad envionment, natural temperment, etc..only he sees the big picture and the person insides...therefore only He is fit to judge.

Since He made us and this is His solution, who are you to question it..many things are hard for us to understand because we don't have the vastness of the mind of God and see and know all He does.

Often we grow in life and change our views based on things we learn..how do you know what God will teach us when we die so that our view will change and we will not hate those in heaven who have harmed us on earth

..the person does not get off scott free--there are natural consequences of sin (we may be jailed or shunned or guilty etc)..also I believe that when we die, God will go over our lives with us and He will show us HOW our actions affected others and ruminated from those people we harmed onto others in their lives..

all the consequences of our actions, we will be shown..I believe not only will He show it to us but that He will let us FEEL the feelings of all those our actions harmed and that will bring us to true repentent and bring us great sorrow..he will give us knowledge we lack and show us from His point of view why He hates sin because of the harm it does

,..when He forgives us then after that and puts our sins as far from east to west, we will be full of gratitude and many will willingly talk about what they did in this life and how much God forgave them of.as an expression of gratitude or happiness for His great mercy.

Maybe He will even show those harmed by the sinner the influences upon thast sinner (murderer) to give them understanding of some of the factors that may have led to the act. .

If you think forgiveness is sick, I would guess you aren't truly aware of the depth of your sins and of each of our sins..and its effects on people...

Regardless of if you like it, God will do what he will do and the two stories mentioned above (prodical son and workers in the field) are two illustrations of how God thinks..

We all don't understand difficult things but hopefully, we will someday..for whatever man says God will be proved true and the man the liar not God. He is the maker and it is His right to do what He will do...time will show you are not more right or righteous than God, my atheist friend.

Friend your statement lends to eternal guilt. If eternal guilt were possible no one would ever be forgiven and everyone would perish.
If a murderer or child molester or anyone else for that matter is truly repentant and sorry for their actions and willing to turn to God and turn away from those choices.... yes God will forgive them.
You use a moral high ground in the assumption of your question.. realize that to God ... sin is sin..... no one persons sin is worse than another .... there is only one unforgivable sin.... any sin is enough to keep someone from heaven.
No matter what it was or how bad man believed that sin to be.
A child molester for example.... if they are non- repentant... the scripture says that it would be better for them to have a millstone tied around their neck and drowned in the sea... thats a pretty harsh punishment wouldnt you agree?
We are all sinners and deserving of hell friend.... everyone of us... but we can recieve forgivness from Jesus Christ if we are truly repentant.
My sins are no worse nor any better than anyone elses ...
The word tells us that God will wipe away all tears in heaven... there will be no sadness. When those children or parents enter heaven and if the person that harmed them has become repentant and recieved forgivness and salvation through Jesus Christ... those children and or parents will be there with the grace and love of God and will be able to understand and forgive also.

God bless you friend will be keeping you in prayer

First, I'd like to say that our children are given to us as gifts from God. They are HIS children for an eternity, ours for a short time on Earth. I believe that God loves all of His children and wants all of us to turn away from our wicked ways.

Jesus tells the parable about the prodical son--left home, squandered all of his inheritance, came home very humbled, and his father welcomed him home with a feast! Our Heavenly Father wants to welcome us (ALL OF US SINNERS) home in the same way.

Jesus tells the parable about the owner of the vineyard--he calls workers at different times of the day and all are paid a full days wages. The workers who were there all along were jealous and couldn't understand why the owner was so good to the workers who came at the end of the day. Jesus says to us, "are you jealous because I am generous?"

I think that this shows that God IS merciful. We, as humans, have a hard time forgiving others when they have wronged us, but God does not. Who are we to decide who belongs to the kingdom and who doesn't? The thief on the cross next to Jesus asked Him to "remember him" -- Jesus assured him that because of his faith that he was saved. He was a sinner being punished by people for his sins--forgiven by God that very moment.

If we cannot forgive each other, how can we expect God to forgive us?

Hey no ones to say anyone may go in heaven, Jesus is the judge, if he thinks the person should not go to heaven, then he/she will not go to heaven, none of us on Earth can say who goes to heaven and who doesn't.

Let it go Jane

When people pay restitution for their crimes Or spend the allotted time in prison when they are released their past crimes should not be held against them.

Jesus the Christ took our punishment on the cross with Him and when we turn to Him we receive forgiveness.

The people in heaven will see each other as forgiven and loved by God and by each other.

Let go of the hate.....
