Try to find out if there are any groups in your local area where you can meet up with other pagans, I attend a moot twice a month and have friends of many different paths. They help me by informing me of books to avoid - anything printed by Llewelyn. We also have talks about the different paths, we had one about Wicca and Witchcraft a few months ago and one about Heathenry last week. Don't worry about knowing everything at once as it takes time to learn about your chosen path. It can take years to learn and people won't mock you if you are genuine in your belief. You didn't state where you are from so I can't help you much more. If you want to email me and talk some more you can contact me on serenitycourt@yahoo.co.uk

Aren't you mixing thngs a bit. Chakras are from Indian religions, Wicca is English (and some north European) beliefs cobbled together in the early to mid 20th century.
I'd personally suggest avoiding the american authors (such as starhawk and silver raven-wolf, mentioned elsewhere) as they make an even bigger hash of mixing things, trying to cobble in shamanism and american indian ideas which have nothing whatsoever to do with Wicca. In addition, like many american approaches, they tent towards the infantile. Probably the best exposition of the Wiccan religion is The Witches Bible by Stewart Farrar but there are books by Doreen Valiente, Lois Bourne and various other followers of Gerald Gardener and Alex Sanders.

honestly, the Bible says particular particular magical practices are no longer allowed. All mentions of "witchcraft" have been further in the seventeenth century. What definition of witchcraft are you asking approximately? in the seventeenth century, while that complicated word known in the Bible, it meant *malevolent* magical prepare. right now, self-defined witches use the word "witchcraft" to discuss with a human beings-derived magical prepare. no remember if used for help or harm does not remember in the well-liked utilization of the word. cutting-edge witches have not got a ordinary faith. some are atheists. some are Christians. some are Satanists. some are Wiccans. some are Jews. some are different issues. I evaluate myself a mystical practitioner, even nevertheless i do no longer evaluate myself to be a witch. i'm additionally a Wiccan, and that i worship my Lord and female. i understand i'm responsible for my movements, so I try to no longer do issues magically or mundanely that unduly harm others.

The book that set me on the path was called A Beginners Guide To Witchcraft by Teresa Moorey.
It's only a small book but it explains a lot of basic concepts and the sabbats etc. there are many other books in the series including books on crystals and herbs.
Also check out your local library, you may be surprised as to the extent of books they have on Wicca.
Bright Blessings and Welcome to the craft ;)

There are a lot of good books out there.
Personally I like "The Spiral Dance" by Starhawk. It has a great overview of the Craft and a lot of good beginners exercises.

I used to be involved in it when I was about 15 to about 19..I would read ,sacrifice and follow it up to the end.It got me nowhere..it is a sin,its malicious, and those that I thought were helping me,weren't....dont do it,enjoy your life, not at the expense of radical people that want you to be cornered not free to live your teen years ,a time of discovering and finding yourself in a positive way.....take it from me..i have a punk band been playing drums for years and enjoy everything...but its a show,im not a rebel on the inside...hope all helps
