I won’t reveal his religion will only say he’s NOT a Christian. Wife has always clearly told husband from 1st meeting that she has a loving relationship with God without questionable, 1,000+ yr old books, etc. Tho his his faith said stay within your religion he thought she wld convert. She NEVER drank but after 5 yrs of marriage she and a friend join a wine appreciation club. He goes ballistic, says she will “burn in hell” for drinking alcohol. He demands she quit the group and so, she does. She still has wine about once a week but NEVER where he would see/know. He finds out during a religious holiday that lasts for several weeks. They have custody of his 5 kids from his prior marriage and she’s a housewife. He tells her that he can no never give her money / let her use the car for his kids or herself b/c she “might buy wine and that’s against my religion”. She’s like “Huh?” Please tell who is being dogged in this situation, why and what should the dogged party do?

while a dependence upon reason, observation, and experience merits everlasting pain, is too abusrd for refutation, and can be believed only by that unhappy mixture of insanity and ignorance called 'faith.' " -Robert G. Ingersoll

This is one of my favorite statements of all time. How can people believe their very own creator would punish them for using what has been given to them?

..Believers are irrational..They are believe because they are to hold to have faith..

To have faith you should believe..but in the first place we should believe..and to really believe it has to pass a doubting stage.

Why you believe? In most of the cases,it is a parents' legacy...Something taught to them when they are young..

Believers are irrational..they cannot see beyond their Holy Scriptures as they consider that even thinking of Holy Words false is a sin..

THEY ENTRAP THEMSELVES IN A CICLE WHICH THEY CANNOT ESCAPE

What about all the poor innocent schmucks like myself who just react biologically and put up no resistance when a girl is madly in love with me and she practically does the whole act herself? Why do you always assume I lied and assured the girl I'd take care of her?

It is sad to see people try to explain the bible without to receive the Holy Spirit.Even in the bible there are examples of such people:

Luke 24:45 "Then opened He(Jesus Christ) their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,"

Matthew 22:29 "But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God."

Many ATHEISTS and other religions claim to once have been Christians...but when you ask them what signs did they see in themselves, You hear things like:

"I grew up in a Christian church/ home/ family"
"I've read the whole bible"
"I was born a Christian"-This one is worse, you can't be born a Christian!
"I pray"
"I was involved in church activities"
"I used to read the bible"
"I studied theology"
"I do charity work"
"I used to be a pastor"
"I am Christian but I am not born-again"-that's contradiction!!
"I am a Christian but I pray through Mary"

They explain the bible outside context e.g. slavery, battles

I've applied for numerous positions at a NGO called IREX. (http://www.irex.org), a well-known international organization. Despite having submitted my name for more positions than I can count, I have never received back any type of notice, good or bad, as to the status of my candidacy. I don't necessarily expect to be offered an interview for even just one out of every 100 or so jobs for which I apply, but most employers will at least send you a rejection letter whether or not you were short-listed for an interview. There's a notice on IREX's website which says "no phone calls please". All of this has me wondering whether the job vacancies they advertise really exist in the first place (a lot of NGO positions are contigent on funding, grants, etc., which I understand) My question is, do I risk pissing them off and call them anyway? (note: in order to remain anonymous, I've changed my real name as it appears in Yahoo! Answers as this organization still has my resume active in their files

Do you believe the recent increased in terrorism the world over is related to what the Book of Revelations and Nostradamus has said? The Anti Christ is going to make his apperance soon and mayhem will follow? Do you believe the world will end soon? Soon could mean 20 to 30 years.

When I drive around (it doesn't matter what part of the U.S. I'm in) I occasionally see fairly large 5 pointed stars mounted on the front side of houses, usually over the garage door. Some are colored. I spent 8 years in the Military and they resemble a General's rank insignia. I was wondering if this was a symbol that they belong to some type of club like the Masons, etc... Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Bernie

I dont understand if Jesus is God or the son of God in christianity, why do ppl worship Jesus(pbuh) if the Bible says to worship but one lord "...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the Lord our God is one Lord." (Mark 12:29) "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." This verse, Matthew 15:9, so why do ppl still worship him, and if he is somehow both at the same time how come he constantly talks to God as a different entity in the Bible in the Bible

165. Messengers of good cheer and off warning, in order that mankind might have no argument against Allah after the
messengers. Allah was ever Mighty, Wise.
166. But Allah (Himself) testifieth concerning that which He hath revealed unto thee; in His knowledge hath He
revealed it; and the Angels also testify. And Allah is sufficient witness.
167. Lo! those who disbelieve and hinder (others) from the way of Allah, they verily have wandered far astray.
168. Lo! those who disbelieve and deal in wrong, Allah will never forgive them, neither will He guide them unto a road.
169. Except the road of hell, wherein they will abide for ever. And that is ever easy for Allah.
170. O mankind! The messenger hath come unto you with the truth from your Lord. Therefor believe; ( it is) better for
you. But if ye disbelieve, still, lo! unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Allah is ever
Knower, Wise.
171. O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The
Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit
from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three". Cease! (it is) better for you! Allah is only One
God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all
that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.
172. The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. Whoso scorneth His service
and is proud, all such will He assemble unto Him;
173. Then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will He pay their wages in full, adding unto them
of His bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, them will He punish with a painful doom.
174. And they will not find for them, against Allah, any protecting friend or helper.
175. O mankind! Now hath a proof from your Lord come unto you, and We have sent down unto you a clear light;
176. As for those who believe in Allah, and hold fast unto Him, them He will cause to enter into His mercy and grace,
and will guide them unto Him by a straight road.
177. They ask thee for a pronouncement. Say: Allah hath pronounced for you concerning distant kindred. If a man die
childless and he have a sister, hers is half the heritage, and he would have inherited from her had she died childless.
And if there be two sisters, then theirs are two-thirds of the heritage, and if they be brethren, men and women, unto the
male is the equivalent of the share of two females. Allah expoundeth unto you, so that ye err not. Allah is Knower of
all things.

Let's say that you meet the guy or the woman of your dreams, and you fall madly inlove ,the feelings are mutual...and you plan to get married....but someway..somehow....you find out that you'll lose your loved one after a few years......the question is would you still continue the relationship and marry the person, knowing that?

My gay partner is a cross dresser that goes by the name Michelle.Im fine with that, but he is ALWAYS looking over my shoulder, snooping through my things and very controlling. He says he does this because he loves me, but I feel like it is abuse to a certain extent. The other night I called him by his real name Mike by accident when we were at a bar, and he slapped me.Not the first time he has done that either. If anyone else talks to me he gets angry.Plus he is always trying to fight my battles, but he sure doesnt help any. What should I do? I feel trapped with no where else to go.
