It is sad to see people try to explain the bible without to receive the Holy Spirit.Even in the bible there are examples of such people:
Luke 24:45 "Then opened He(Jesus Christ) their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,"
Matthew 22:29 "But Jesus answered them, "You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God."
Many ATHEISTS and other religions claim to once have been Christians...but when you ask them what signs did they see in themselves, You hear things like:
"I grew up in a Christian church/ home/ family"
"I've read the whole bible"
"I was born a Christian"-This one is worse, you can't be born a Christian!
"I pray"
"I was involved in church activities"
"I used to read the bible"
"I studied theology"
"I do charity work"
"I used to be a pastor"
"I am Christian but I am not born-again"-that's contradiction!!
"I am a Christian but I pray through Mary"
They explain the bible outside context e.g. slavery, battles

They misunderstand the "language in the bible" and find reasons to critisize TRUE Christians and their God.
Some of the things they say are not even in the bible.
They don't understand why God gave slavery laws...they just criticize without to understand the book.
Some of them were taught by false teachers who misrepresented the bible!
Some of them do not even READ THE BIBLE!
SHOULD WE BE AFRAID TO DESCRIBE TRUE CHRISTIANITY using the bible?
Most of them believe in facts, BUT IF WE EXPLAIN TO THEM THAT THEIR EVIL ACTIVITIES ARE UNBIBLICAL, THEY GET OFFENDED!
The devil speaks his lies through television, internet, radio stations...Why should we be afraid to confront evil?
This is not HATE!It is TRUTH...Part of Christianity is to REVEAL EVIL:
Rev 2:2 "'I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

Hi!
I will briefly show you one of the reasons why God said children be killed...He was saving their parents by killing the children...I am sure you know that children go to heaven...how was He trying to save the parents...the parents would repent from their PRIDE! PRIDE leads to Hell, and Hell is worse than killing one's children...Hell is forever!
If God asked you nicely to release His people to go worship Him and you say "I won't" and "He keeps sending you messages through lighter punishment, what should He do?
Should He Allow you to withhold nations of all the earth from being blessed in Jesus Christ who was suppose to come through Israel? No way!Mind you, God was releasing Israel so as to train them to bring all nations to God(unfortunately they disobeyed)...God used Israel to warn PROUD and warlike countries like the Amalikites who always attempted to vandalise the Israelites while they travel to Canaan...
Pharaoh was refusing to release the Israelites even after warnin

No I don't agree. The Bible was written for everyone and not only for scholars. It's these scholars who try to explain the way they see things that put non Christians against the Bible. God did not intend the Bible to be diisected. He intended it as a guidebook for life. Unfortunately there are too many interpretations. It's not a hard book to read you know. It's easy to understand at face value. don't complicate things.

I will not look up every scriptures, but I can if need be, Yes it is true, You need the Holy Ghost to understand the bible, The bible says, when the comfortor is come, he will guide you into ALL TRUTH, Now if a person claims they have the Holy Ghost & they deny the word of God, something is wrong, How can God deny his own words, The bible also says the BRIDE (HATH) pass tense, made herself ready. Isa. 52:8 says that they will see eye to eye, & Ephesians 4:11-15 there is a 5 fold minstry to bring us into the UNITY of THE FAITH, Unto A PERFECT man or woman, There is One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, There is ONE GOD & not 3. The Holy Ghost is a teacher to us. a comfortor to us, & a leadership for us. The Holy Ghost is the spirit of God, That we are given in a measure. The holy Ghost is our Seal, it is Our Token, IT is our ticket . Now as far as others saying they once was saved & now are not, well We all are born into this world but one time, & we are Born into The Family of God But ONE TIME & that is By the Holy Ghost, & we are seal until (WHEN, THE NEXT REVIVAL, OR THE NEXT SERVICE) NO, NO, NO. Until the day of our redemption. So that lets me know that they may have repented, But not yet received the Holy Ghost. Remember Paul ask some people have you received the Holy Ghost since ye Believed, & NOT WHEN you believed. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a different experince than just repenting, First you have to repent, then be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ & ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, It is a promise unto ALL TRUE BELIEVER, & a seperate experince. God deals with each person in his own way. The way God dealt with me, does not mean that God will deal with you the same way. The end results is at the end we will be in UNITY in the Faith & see EYE to EYE ON the True revelations in the Bible.

Yet nowhere in the Bible does it say "You have to have the Holy SPirit in order to understand ANYTHING of the Bible" The word Bible isn't even used in the Bible... At the time Jesus was saying "you don't know the Scriptures" ... what scriptures do you think were around? It certainly wasn't the New Test... he didn't have a little guy following him around with pad and pen writing everything down (if he did, the guy did a really bad job.... the 4 gospels do not match up). The Scriptures being referred to there is the Torah... and that is the ONLY thing they considered Scripture back then.
So aren't You then setting the context for this? Instead of staying in the context that is obvious in the book itself???

About 10 years ago I was defending my christian faith. I was challenged to read the bible as unbiased as possible. I was told to keep two things in mind. 1) Action and lip service are not always the same thing. Example: Everyone knows someone who says this or that or promises and it never goes through. That is lip service. Action is what the person ultimately does.
2) You agree that there are two choices here, That every event/action we as humans take push us on our path toward
heaven or hell. heaven being love/fellowship hell being the other place/dominion.
so I agreed , I asked for guidance from the god of love, and proceeded. It took me three years to read. The atrosities caused/created by the "god" of the OT sickened me. Whenever I questioned an authority of the church they justified the murders, and other act of in the name of god. with " taking it out of context" I don't know what that means. In Exodus when god had all the firstborn killed so you would know he was god, doesn't sound like love in any context .
To say that noone can understand the bible without receiving the holy spirit is like the Emperor with new clothes. The taylor says only those of great wisdom can see them.
all that is needed to get back to father is love and to let go off the hold earth has on you.
The task of Life is to choose Love or Dominion in each and every event in your life is about that choice. Heaven/hell Love/Dominion

Too many people think they can serve God and Jesus, but they refuse to give up their own free will, and take up the cross and truly follow Jesus.
Without doing that, you are not a true 'born again' Christian, which simply means you are not reborn of God's Holy Spirit.
False Christians are easy to spot, for instead of saying what God's Word says, they say 'I' this or 'I' that.
Christianity is all about Jesus and His Will, not the will of those who serve Him.
And Jesus said He came NOT to bring peace, yet so many false Christians claim Jesus is about love. Well, Jesus said it, and when you dispute what Jesus said, you expose yourselves as frauds.
If you truly want to be a born again Christian, then take up your cross and follow Jesus, and not some person who wrote a book about Jesus.
You aren't supposed to be a Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, or anything except a CHRISTIAN. A follower of Christ Jesus.

Good words my friend.
Reading a single verse and summarizing is absolutely ridiculous.
Having the Holy Spirit and comprehending Scripture is quite relevant.
The answers from some Atheists can be quite derogatory (duck guy).
Yes it is sad to see such anger towards the Scriptures and Jesus.
And the ones who claim to have read the Bible and refute it simply have not asked for the Blessing.
God works.
Praise.

I agree...to an extent. There's also historical context as well as the writer's intention on which book of the Bible we're talking about.
With the 33,000 churches out there with different teachings, how can the Holy Spirit lead to so many different truths? Especially if they contradict each other. That's why Sola Scriptura (the bible alone) rule of faith doesn't work. There has to be an authority outside of Scripture to teach us what it really means.

Actually I am baptized in the Spirit, so not talking blindly here, so here goes: the Lord was with me and in me before I officially was given the "second blessing," so sometimes I think if a person prays for God to help them understand the scriptures He will do it. I think we try to tell God what He can and cannot do, and that is laughable. God can decide a few things without our help.

I see where you are going with this and thats a yes and no answer. To recieve God is to recieve his word. It is through his Holy Spirt we come to understanding............but the word is the seed to mans heart to reconcile man to God thru Jesus Christ. We were told to spread the word share the good news. Those who recieve is up to God not us. Our job is clearly defined. As for the Holy Spirit: many believers with the spirit have just enough information to be a danger to themsleves and others. but we accomondate that by saying they are on the milk and are infants. Shouldn't we also accomondate those outside the Holy Spirit , understanding they too are growing. After all I was once one of them.

The Holy Spirit does indeed give us understanding of the Scriptures on a heart level but people can read the Bible and listen to gifted teachers and understand many things from the pages of Scripture on the head level. It's just that the Word doesn't bear the fruit of salvation.
