What the book of revelation has foreseen started with World War I. Atrocities have been happening for many centuries but the last century and this particular one have seen the worst of the atrocities, It very hard to find any information of a good nature when you watch the news these days. The end is near but 'near' could be another thousand years, we simply don't know.

All those who dismiss the bible's guidance are simply scared. They are not willling to accept that thety are not in control. They should realise that prophecies which were made in the old testament came true. So why should those in the book of revelations not?

For the eleventy millionth time. Revelation is not prophecy. It is a political tract against emperor worship in Asia Minor, written by John the Presbyter in exile, Bishop of Ephesus, to his churches of that region in that day, against burning incense to emperor gods in the Flavian temple in Ephesus. Do you think God is so stupid as to address letters to churches that don't exist by 500 CE let alone 2006 CE?

I know all you rapture guys are desperate for the parousia so you don't have to get up and go to work in the morning, but read a book written by Bible scholars instead of trash from the Doomsday Industry hacks like LaHaye and Hagee and learn what the book was really about, not the views of some Bubba with a diploma from the Bible College of Bugtussle.

Well, I can't say I've noticed any seven-headed beasts with ten horns, or blood-stained guys with swords coming out of their mouths, or writers with ink-horns marking folk in the fore-head, so I guess not.
Revelation and Nostrodamus are similar in that the drivel contained had a local and contempary meaning, utterly irelevant today.
Groups like the Jehovah's Witnesses have been using Revelation to predict the end for over a hundred years - every time a deadline comes and we are still here, they just quietly forget it and make a new prediction!

No, I am sorry to say I think the book of Revelations, or any other book in that particular bible is a load of old dated nonsense...

The world has been carrying on for several billions of years, long before the dawn of man, and shall probably continue to do so long after we have gone. Why don't you book yourself a trip to Megiddo though, so you can get front line seats if I am wrong..

Absolutely I believe this is what the prophets of old for seen many years ago, because the holy bible reminds us that when Jesus, who is also known as the son of man returns that it will be like it was in the day of Noah Matthew 24-37,how was it in the days of Noah, the world was full of violence and terrorism, but world will never end because psalm 104-5 tells us this.

Actually I do believe the world will end soon, good job too! Although people have of course been convinced of this in every generation because it's always looked this bad to someone in some part of the world at any time.

The book of revelations is very OPEN to interpretation, hence people reading the bible will attribute what is happening in the current climate as being evidenced in the book of revelations.

How many times as this book as well as the many doom Sayer's predicted the end of the world..... still here

Oh yeah - big time.

It is a complete mystery to me that anyone who has the mental capacity to hit keys on a keyboard can believe this nonsense.

a)it is just junk - even when it was written
b)it was written for a specific local historical reason and is warped out of context by nutters
c)it is junk, incoherent, and frankly could be used in evidence in a mental certification case
d)it is extremely doubtful that it shares anywhere near the historical weight of the other books of the bible (not that much then)
e) If people must beleive thsi nonsense dont let them near sharp knives, scissors, nuclear arsenals.

The Revelation of John always gets a bum rap. The book was written to give hope to the early Christian church which was being persecuted. Was never meant to pin point the last days.
