..Believers are irrational..They are believe because they are to hold to have faith..

To have faith you should believe..but in the first place we should believe..and to really believe it has to pass a doubting stage.

Why you believe? In most of the cases,it is a parents' legacy...Something taught to them when they are young..

Believers are irrational..they cannot see beyond their Holy Scriptures as they consider that even thinking of Holy Words false is a sin..

THEY ENTRAP THEMSELVES IN A CICLE WHICH THEY CANNOT ESCAPE

To the aptly-named "Tenacious" one:

People knew that the world was round centuries before anyone went all the way around. Aristotle knew it, if I remember correctly.

I don't buy the notion that believers are "brain-washed" (at least any more so than the rest of us are about various things, like the Columbus story or the "there's no gravity up there" notion of why things float around in the Space Shuttle). Nor do I think that the problem is always irrationality - rationality only gets you from your assumptions to the things that logically follow from your assumptions. It does not guarantee true beliefs.

But the believers in gods are wrong - there are no gods, no souls, no life after death, if he existed at all, Jesus has been dead for 2000 years.

No, to believe in something we can't see we have faith. Faith is believing when we can't see it. It is blind. To our human minds we are not able to comprehend it, it is revealed by the Holy Spirit. Unless it is revealed, it will never make sense. That's why there are so many people who don't understand. It is revealed to us in our spirit. You are right that we shouldn't believe in a thing just because our parents told us to. We must each come upon a moment of truth in our lives where we ask the creator who he is, is he real and for him to please reveal these hidden truths to us. Then we all have been given a free will to accept or reject. Don't believe or not believe by looking at other Christians. The road to heaven is small and the gates narrow. The road to hell is wide. Many many who call themselves Christians are not at all. They are just entrapped like you said. Having faith is not something that you must understand first or muster up the "belief" for. It is a free gift. In order to be handed it by God, we must first open our hands surrendering what ever we have been holding onto. He is loving and will be happy to show you. Don't let the wannabees turn you away from the real thing. Seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened. It happened for me when I was nineteen, and it has only gotten better and better. Good luck!

Ok based on this thought. The world is round. Before they actually could go all the way around it and see it for themselves they thought it was flat. So they started believing it was round and therefore they explored more closely and found out it was indeed round. Thus same holds true for people who believe in Jesus Christ. At first you just believe because people are telling you to believe that he is real and you need to believe. As you go through life if you truly search and explore the exceptance of Jesus Christ reality, you will find out he really is real and there will be no doubt in your mind anymore. I do not believe that Jesus Christ is real. I KNOW he is real. I have seen him do fantastic things in peoples lives. I am not trapped in a circle nor do I wish to escape. I am not sure what religion you are talking about as far as thinking of Holy words false being sinful. God's words are a road map for us to follow to find him and to know him and to allow him to help us have a fabulous life here on earth and future with him in heaven one day. Anything else is just human beings trying to control you and change you.

When you doubt it is like to say,,I don't want to held accountable about the what ifs...what if there is a God and I am wrong,, well then why worry about it but any fact every man will be judged,,every man and women will...No one will be able to talk thier way out of it,,noone...We stand for something you can't see because you don't have the spiritual eyes we have,,you are blind in your thinking but I will pray that the Lord will open your eyes just for a moment to see the hell that comes before you if you do not repent and turn from your selfish ways...I am in no way trapped,,I am free something you will never know about until the Lord gets ahold of you...You have the right to live how you live just as I am allowed to live for Jesus,,that don't make me bad or stupid...Because I can't rationalize like you do, that I am different from you and your thinking..Think how you want,,you are better off not knowing than to know the things I know,,God says,, we all will be held accountable for our own actions in life..I live in peace and Love...

We are told in the Bible to prove all things. It is not just a case of "blind" belief, but to know why to believe certain things. There is nothing wrong with doubt, as doubt will lead us to try to prove and eventually lead us to the truth. With the Bible, it is just a case of understanding it and not just believing without finding out why a statement is made in the first place.

Faith-based religious belief is an insidious mind-killer... it cuts one off from the open-minded and intellectually honest consideration of alternative possibilities. It deludes you into thinking that you 'knows' the 'truth' pertaining to fundamental aspects of existence and reality... when, in fact, you don't know squat.

Faith (wishful, magical thinking) is a substitute for evidence... and serves as the basis for 'belief'... the internalized certainty that one's own ideations map to reality.

'Belief' is a substitute for knowledge... i.e., false knowledge, sustained by wishful, magical thinking.

faith + belief = willful ignorance and self-delusion

It is very important to doubt something before you believe it. To believe just because you are told to is not wise at all. So it is better to doubt initially and philosophize or research based on your doubt and come to your own conclusion. Don't believe something just because you are told to- sort it out for yourself. Then your belief will be stronger.

everyone believes in something, even those who don't believe in any Religious Belief System. each person who is cynical has a right to question but needs to respect the rights of those who believe if they want their rights to not believe to be respected in return. otherwise conflict is very possible and all will lose.

When a person KNOWS that the Word of God is true, then that is all we need to know.

Read 1 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 18 25

I know very well how foolish the message of the gospel sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we are being saved recognise this message as the very power of God........

As the Scriptures say

"I will destroy human wisdom
and discard their most brilliant ideas."

and so on.....

EXACTLY!!! I agree most certainly. They just believe for the sake of believing and they believe without reasons without evidence or proof.
