I am interested in historical / cultural / social / anthropology or scientific answers only. I do not want answers that are based on religion, or that are religion in disguise. I previously placed this question in a non religious category, just for this reason.

On another note: The bible belt seems to comprise all the states that were part of the Confederacy, during the Civil War. It seems like it was either a product of the Civil War, or existed priviously.

And if it did exist previously? Then maybe it was one of the things that CAUSED the Civil War in the first place. The bible after all, was widely quoted during this period to justify slavery.

If it was a product of the Civil War instead, then perhaps religious fundamentalism flourishes anywhere where there is poverty and ignorance. That would have fit the period of reconstruction perfectly.

it seems, with my very limited knowledge of the subject, that japanese songs - it's mostly pop songs/anime themes i've heard - do not rhyme, as american and british songs tend to. am i missing something, or is this just a different evolution? how long has this been going on (if it's been going on, at all)?

is it really worth it loosing your virginity in high school? Think about. Rumors being spread about you, feeling embarrassing of him/her when you pass by him/her in the halls, knowing you will probably never see him again after graduation, getting pregnant, getting an abortion, feeling ashamed. Also, I have more questions below, but please don't take offense to this, I'm just an outsider to this community trying to learn. I'm sincerely not trying to be offensive in any way.

1) For the guys, have you had successful sexual/loving relationships with women?

2) For the girls, have you had successful sexual/loving relationships with men?

3) Are any of you gay/les/bi, or sexually confused? Do you feel your parents effected this or not?

4) Do you feel you were raised well enough to understand the world and how to survive in it?

5) Were your parents fair with gender while raising you? I ask this one because I wonder if some lesbian couples get their daughters to treat men unequally, or are they fair, & do the gay male parents teach enough about women so that their kids aren't biased?

6) Did your parents try to talk you into fitting the opposite genders dress style, actions, etc, as a way to show you it;s okay to be either or?

...while I was at carnival in London, made the mistake of questioning the quality of some ganja some dear was trying to sell me. He decided to return the sneer, calling me a '**cking mulatto'. Of course, most of us know when a black person uses that, it is as an abusive term (which he did - mulatto is as much a racist term as 'naygur' - excuse the mis-spelling, but spelt rightly, all I get is stars! - but this is used by, basically West Indian-British men). The question is, thus, why is black racism less 'important; than 'white racism' in most of the media - my visits of London over the past thirty years have shown that black racism can be twice as bad...especially when it is directed at mixed-race beings!
