is it really worth it loosing your virginity in high school? Think about. Rumors being spread about you, feeling embarrassing of him/her when you pass by him/her in the halls, knowing you will probably never see him again after graduation, getting pregnant, getting an abortion, feeling ashamed. I'm only speaking from experience.

NO! it is not worth it. Virginity is something very, very, very special. It is like a rare gift. If you do not lose it with a very special person, you can regret it the whole life long.

Remember: to him, it does not matter- what does he care? Virginity is nothing but a nuissance. All he wants is to pleasure himself (not at all thinking of you). Then does he really deserve this most precious gift? And will he appreciate you, and what you've given him? Would he want to stay, once he's used you for the purpose of satisfying his lust? Will he be patient with your lack of experience, or will he humiliate you and make you feel like a loser? Think about these things. Don't rush, protect this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to give the most precious gift to the most special man- not to the shallow superficial high school jock.

You should go on tour to schools through out your area. You make a great deal of sense. You have an important message to pass on.

Who wants to live with rumors about your reputation, the embarrassment of being found out, pregnancy, or abortion, etc. Who needs that at any time in ones life particularly in High School?

Like you said, it's not worth it! :+)

I so agree with you. Kids are so quick to try to grow up these days without knowing what the consequences are they have to pay. I am sorry for your hurt and loss cause I can tell you are very hurt. Keep in mind though to move onward and upward. Go out and get those things done that you dreamed you would do in the past. Finish school, go to college and when the time is right the right guy will someday come into your life and things will be as they should be.

No, of course it's not worth it. The problem is that the question of an action being "worth it" rarely comes up in the high school setting. Worth is the expected gain from a projected action. In your question, the "worth" to be gained from losing ones virginity in high school, at least in the past fifty years, is popularity and acceptance, whether from one person or a group of persons. Consequences are rarely, if ever, synonymous with "worth" or even apparent when peer pressure and popularity are involved. In that simple equation, the virgin does not factor in the consequences and repercussions. When we see the true worth of virginity instead of cloaking it in popularity, then the expected gain will project a different action.

Incidentally, I believe the dramatic increase in the divorce rate can be directly correlated to the disappearance of the virgin bride... that is a consequence of shifting perception of the "worth" of virginity and the value of popularity.

You have answered your own question. You have expressed the reasons it was NOT WORTH IT. He skates and you pay. Join the club of those who experience and regret and hopefully learn not to repeat our mistakes. We can't change the past, but we certainly can change Now and every Now we live in. A decade or so ago, there was a movement that caught on for a while. It was on television and radio talk shows for a while. A woman was starting a "secondary virginity" move. I found a web site that explains it:

Good luck.

It's not worth it.

Virginity is like this:

If I took you to the mall, to the best store in there, to buy any dress you wanted, and we spent $5000 on a dress, what would you do with that dress when you got it home?

Would you wear it every day? Why?

Would you take it out and share it with friends? Why?

Get the analogy?

Virginity is like that dress. If you take it out and wear it all the time, it gets ruined. Sharing it with different people all the time will ruin it also.

It is something special, to be kept in a closet until it is needed, for that special occasion.

Good luck. I hope this helped.

No, is not worth it ...and almost every person that thinks the opposite is still in high school.
And is not worth it to lose it just because everybody does it, or just to be popular...once you lose it you'll never have it back again, no matter how much you regret.
