The whole Pope thing is just the latest issue, but it cuts across all sectors of society and the World at large. If you say a woman is Hot, it is offensive, if your company provides benefits to gays, you get boycotted, if you say drinking is fun, you get slammed, if you like the Yo Quiro Taco Bell Dog, Latinos will say you are racist. These are just words. When did society become so polarized and hypersensitive? My mom used to say "stick and stones will break your bones but names will never hurt you." Today, your child calls another child a name, the other parents bring it to the school board. What is happening to our society? Are we all just doomed to become a civilization of whiners and complainers? Never satisfied until no one is offended and living a boring life of grey monotony?

It's not like I stole the money I have. I inherited it.
So what if I live a life of priveledge - you'd do the same.
I buy the best of everything - again you'd do the same.
People say I should give to charity
My charity can be found in the Haliburton stock I own.
That gives capital to a company that needs it for growth and the creation of JOBs.
I pay my housekeepers well.
My pilot gets paid well.
I tip well at restaurants providing the waitress treats me with priveledge.
And then they go on and on about monopolization and unfair business practices. It's a game folks. Leveraged buyouts make me and you winners. Sure some people lose jobs, but that money goes right back into valuable investments. It's all about economics.

So why the hate?

Recently there has been a mass witch hunt for paedophiles as parents are worried about their kids being the next victims.

My questions :
(1)is it a disorder or some people are born with a higher propensity to be one?

(2)what causes it?

(3) Would it be a paedophiliac act if a 15 year old dates and sleeps with a 21 year old person?

The mainly muslim terrorists seem to justify their acts of violence by what is written in their holy book, but is the underlying reason for terrorism jealousy? The reason for this jealousy being the wealth, technology and freedom gained by the west has all been achieved without their religion. Whereas development under muslim control has generally been slow and problematic.

Like, is the pentagram part of Wicca? I've always wondered what that stood for. I've been shopping for rocks and crystals because I want to collect them, and I see a lot that are categorized as "Wiccan." How is that a part of the practice? Also, is "Wicca" the same as "paganism"? All these different names are confusing!

Please, I'd like to hear from some people who follow Wicca or can speak objectively about it. I understand that there's probably people who don't agree with it, but only hearing from people who hate the whole thing won't help! Thanks a lot!

Early in December of 2001, a Sharia religious court of appeal in Muslim-dominated northwest Nigeria ordered a stay of execution for a woman who had been sentenced by a lower court to be stoned to death for having sex outside of marriage. The woman contended that she had been raped. The court granted the stay to allow Safiya Hussaini, 33, to appeal her sentence by a lower Sharia court in the state of Sokoto. The woman is a divorced mother with five children who would be orphaned and probably perish if the execution were carried out.

The court imposed the sentence after Hussaini asked it to compel a man to pay for her infant daughter's naming ceremony. She charged he had raped her three times and impregnated her. When she charged the man with rape, the court dismissed the charges against him, citing a lack of evidence because she was the sole witness.

I believe that all animals from cats and dogs, to fish, insects, snakes, birds, etc. all have souls. I'm not sure what a soul is, but whatever it is, I think that if people have it, other animals definitely do too.

My boss at work and I always argue about this. He thinks humans are the only ones that have a soul.

What do you think?

So apparently today is "talk like a pirate day." Many "pastafarians," as they call themselves, are considering this a holy day, while Yahoo! and other sources claim that it was started by two guys just trying to see how far it would spread, and to dis his ex wife. So how is it a holy day when it's basically just made up? Does that say that the religion is made up too? Opinions?

I keep hearing that Islam is a religion of peace but is that what it's founder believed? Was the alleged profit perhaps two-faced? He talked of peace when it suited him, but did he not take Mecca by force? How do Muslims account for this paradox? Was Muhammad bi-polar?

Please don't respond with "Christians are violent. Look at the crusades". It's a moot point and not the concern of this quesion.
