I sense sarcasm in your question, I'm not sure I even believe you are who you say you are, but I will answer your question anyway.
People are envious to you. Whether you earned what you have or not, we would all take it too if we could. There are pro's and con's with everything though. You might be very wealthy, but you probably cannot appreciate many things in life because they come so easy to you. The lower class citizens might not be rich, however we usually have less headaches to deal with. I know my friends are my friends because they genuinally like me. They haven't befriended me for my money because I do not have any. I do not have to worry about things like that, and you do. The hate you are probably perceiving comes from the attitude many wealthy people have. They look down at the poor, consider themselves better because they have more money. Not all are like that but it only takes a few bad ones before the good ones are forgotten.
Now as far as your whole economy lesson. It is very obvious you did not earn your money because you do not know much about economics or buisnesses.
A complete monopoly does not benefit anybody other than the firm themselves. It is economically dangerous and that is why the Federal government regulates that. For example, you have two main satellite T.V companies. Dish Network and Direct T.V. Dish knows that they cannot inflate the market price because there is an elastic demand, people will just switch to Direct. About 6 years ago, Dish tried to buy out Direct but the FCC would not allow it. That would have created a monopolistic competition between television providers and a complete monopoly for satellite providers. If we allowed companies to monopolize then our economy would be severly damaged.
I am sorry that you feel as though we hate you, we don't. We just feel as though you should not be treated any better than us for the simple fact that you are more fortunate financially

People don't like seeing wealth split unequally. It bothers them seeing very rich people when they know of very poor people. It just doesn't seem fair.
Jealousy is a factor too. Some people have to work really hard for their money and they get jealous when someone gets it all without doing anything.
And there's people who believe that nobody can be rich if they're really fair. They see your wealth as dirty money and refuse to believe that it's not at least partially ill gotten or that you didn't play fair to get this rich. After all, most rich people do dirty business and don't seem to give a damn if workers lose their jobs as long as they make money themselves.
Don't presume that everyone would do the same as you. A lot of people would, but far from everyone.
Personally, I don't hate people for being rich. I hate the ones who are selfish.

anthony has given the best answer, im with him on this one, the only people i hate with money is the ones who have let it go to theyre heads and think the are better than those of us who do this best we can to make ends meet, i drove limo for a year and they trend was the more money the guy was worth the bigger bastered he was and the worst tipper, how sad, and as the the other girl said at least i know who my true friends are, if your a good guy then let my statement pass if not time to reevaluate who you are as a man, remember there is power in humility,

maybe cuz you have a pilot & a housekeeper that you "pay well" and that you flaunt it. i know of a couple people that have a few million sitting in the bank and no one knows about it but a select few. they still drive their old cars around, look at price tags and do their own cleaning & laundry. they also help people financially as often as possible. its the people like you that we hate...that go around announcing it to the world and dont do anything to help the people who are less fortunate. so keep crying that we hate you. doesnt bother me any. ill just go about my petty little life until i can hire my own pilot, sneak up behind you and knock you off of your precious Cloud 15!

More envy than hate.
It's more like we think of you as looking like Bradd Pitt or Tom Cruise. You know, the kind of a guy who can walk up to a girl and say "get naked" and she'll do it in a flash because you're such a rich stud.
In short, you make us look small.
It's envy, not hate.
We don't hate you, we wish we were you and you were us!

Your first sentence. You did not work for what you have. It was given to you. And somehow you feel your special. Life a month without money, in the trenchs. You will have a new found appreciation.

Its not the economics its what you stand for, MONEY. I don't hate if people got money good for you if you don't make it get a better job. I don't have lots of money. i just go enough to live on and I'm happy.

Because of people like Paris Hilton. She goes around and does stupid stuff with her money. When it is so hard for people like me to even get a good job. Even if I go to college.
