A Jehovas Witness came to my door the other day and asked the same question. I thought I'd share this with you and see what kind of arguement I start!!!!! :P

I, personally, think that there is nothing scientific about God. For science to prevail, there has to be enough solid, unquestionable evidence to prove a theory, and there is, in my opinion, not enough for either theory. Any one think otherwise?

Personally I cannot understand why gay section is not within category Relationships, but is within Culture and grups!? Actually "gay..." is the only subgroup there!?!
Is homosexuality a culture? or is it a gruop for some separated from society for their wierd way of life!? I resent it! I feel discriminated as a gay!

From what I've read of other religions at the time it seems to me that Constantine, the Roman Emprorer, had incorporated some of the important details of these religions into the Bible. At the time there was a power struggle in Rome and the production of the Bible solidified his position. How would this happen? Because he now had a large influx of new followers to the Christian faith.

I am a Christian, but I often wonder how much was imbelished, or maybe left unsaid for political reasons at the time.

If both sides pray for the same thing, then that seems wrong to me - If I was going to kill someone I would not ask God for strength, etc - and I definitely would not fight in Gods name...

What if it rains? My husband and I smoked up till 4 years ago when we had children. The couple coming over is my Mom and Step-Father...Usually it isn't a problem but it might rain today and we don't have anywhere protected from the rain for my Step-Father to smoke his cigars. Our garage opens directly into my kitchen so I would rather not open the outer garage door and let him smoke in there. ( I would rather they not smoke where my children might see them smoking at all but that's not realistic)...so what do I do so that they have what they need to smoke but I keep my house smelling clean and smoke free? Is it okay to say, "you have to smoke outside" when it's raining? I guess he could always jump in his truck if the rain were that bad?

Christians believe in Armageddon, that the Rature has begun and soon all the "true believers" will leave the rest of us behind as they are lifted by God from this world. If Christians believe in such madness, they do not believe in the future of mankind, the planet or a possible better and safer world for our children. Why should Christians be allowed to vote or participate in the shaping of the future if they are so hopeless about it?

People here say all the time that the Bible USED to say such-and-such, but it was changed by some person or some government or some council...

What evidence is there that the Bible we have today is not (barring a few minor copy mistakes or something) the same as what was written long ago?

God Hates Homos or Homosexual acts? I am especially interested in this as Jesus appears to approve of same-sex couples as written in the healing of the centurion's servant (Matthew 8:5-13). Jesus didn't denounce their relationship.

So where is it written?

It seems even the most hardcore apologists like Kent Hovind (spelling?) accept that micro-evolution takes place. For those that don't know, micro-evolution says that an animal, for example a bird, can grow a bigger beak if the environment favors this trait. So why is it that they can't accept that say a land animal could develop wings and go from one species to a totally different looking one? It seems to logically follow through to me.

P.S. I know this is not a strictly religious question, but since the audience I seek answers from is mainly religious, I believe the topic is best suited here.

when i was a young boy growing up in india , a schoolgirl from my class died of a snake bite, and according to islamic customs she was burried within 24 hours. that night she spoke to me in dreams and told me that she was not dead but in a deep coma when burried, and came back to life in the grave. she wanted me to open the grave and see how she had struggled.
The next night i crept out of my home went to her grave with a spade and opened the grave. when i tore the shroud what i saw horrified me. she had not only struggled but even torn her flesh with her fingernails been unable to breathe.
Its almost 30 years since this happened , and i still cant understand why she spoke to me in dreams. I am an athiest and never believed in anything. however i am begining to wonder whether the Buddhist beliefs of transmigration of the soul can be in someway true?

can someone explain it to me?

I mean, let's think about this. Even if being gay *was* a choice (as a lesbian who did not choose to like women, I can safely say that it is not, at least not in all the gays I've met), why would that matter?

Even if someone did choose to live their life as a gay person, the "homosexual lifestyle" or whatever, why does that matter? I think the thing that really matters is what gives people the right to tell others that their way of life is wrong?

Even if I had made a choice to love women (a choice that harms no one, not me, not the women I am involved with), why does that give someone the right to deny me societal rights and privileges? Because I had made a choice that they don't like? What if they disagree with what shade I dyed my hair, didn't I just make a choice that they didn't like?

Is anyone following me here?
