Some Christians still believe sun revolves around the earth because they take the Bible literally. For example, Joshua commanded the sun to stop, not the earth to stop spinning. Walter Lang published the Bible-Science Newsletter in the mid-1960’s with articles from strict Biblical literalists who believed the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolves around the earth. They quote verses such as Psalm 93:1 which states, "the world also is established, that it cannot be moved" (KJV). Therefore, the earth does not spin around on its axis or orbit the sun, but according to Joshua 10:12 it is the sun that is moving around the earth.

If the bible is wrong on this, how many more fantasies are in there? Jesus? The whole bible?

Amos 5:14 Search for what is good and not what is bad, to the end that you people may keep living, and that thus Jehovah the God of ARMIES may come to be with you..

15) Hate what is bad and love what is good, and give justice a place in the gate..

17 ) 'And in all vineyards ther will be wailing, for I shall pass through the midst of you,' Jehovah has said.

There are no firm definitions of either term - a few dictionary searches will confirm this.

An atheist, to some, is one who denies the existence of God. To others an atheist is one who does not believe in the existence of God.

An agnostic, technically, is one who believes that the question of the existence of God is unresolvable. However, that still leaves one open to disbelief in God.

I personally think of myself as an atheistic agnostic. I do not think it is possible to know for sure whether God exists or not but in the absence of evidence I choose not to believe in its existence.

I know it's all just semantics - but I'm just curious how others define themselves, and why.

has anybody had experience of Alien Big Cats (ABCs to forteans) in the UK? a lot of people scoff at this but considering there are some people in this world who think they get gang probed by little grey aliens on a regular basis, then believing that a renegade panther is lurking in the British countryside seems perfectly plausible! does anyone have serious first hand experience of ABCs?

I was born & grew up in Farndon (Cheshire), but went to school in Rossett (Wales) - just a mile or so appart. It really annoys me though why it seems acceptable for advertisers to make fun at Wales. (eg. pot noodle ect.,) Does this annoy anyone else?

Any insurers you can recommend for self-employment income protection? And as it is self employed work...how do they work out what they will pay you back?

If I am ill at present...I get zilch. I am prepared to pay a high premium. How many month sdo you need to pay into the scheme to get protected.

Are there other protection policies to cover you not being able to find work?

I observed that animals communicate with us thru their expressions (eyes, tail, tongue, rubbing body). But we understand them very little. If only we or they be able to talk to us and tell how they feel in this world, under the supervision of humans? What would they be saying to each other when they see a man in his pants? Wondering when their youngones will go to school and learn? Wished that they too had a place of worship? There is more to think about and ask about......
