The smart thing to do about any of this in my mind is be rational. Some people go nuts either religious people or non-religious people. Somewhere in the middle is the truth. If you examine what these take over merchants have to say and try and remove any bias in your mind, they may have some truth worth listening to. Then you can make up your mind what to do. I have met some Christians who are so arrogant and ignorant. It is such a bad combination. And yet there are plenty of atheists who are just the same. Rational debate and an open mind can make all the difference.

Do anything to keep their political power limited (thats legal and non-violent)... (meaning get your town or district to not vote for them in the elections by educating them about "Family First"'s policies)

Im not saying just throw out that political party (that is against political freedom which I will never stand for)...but it would be best to give them a reminder that religious intolerance and religious meddling in politics will never be tolerated in a truly a democratic nation (unless I'm mistaken thats what evangelical Christian parties usually end up doing).

I agree they are a bigger threat to our country than the islamic fundamentalists that we are so worried about. The other day I turned my tv on at 4am and there were american evangelicals saying if you buy this God will give you what you wish for! WTF is that legal? But it's their biggoted outlook that is the big worry.

All we can do is make sure that our friends know what their policies really are, and be prepared to argue against the anti-science lies and propaganda they spread as part of their conversion efforts.

Ignore all sorts of religions. Stay close to God. You do not need
anyone to "lead" you to god. Only in silence of meditation you will connect to the energy of the universe and the One who makes it it to work in a perfect manner.

I think evangelical Christians have been doing their thing there for several hundred years now so I wouldn't get your shirt in a knot just because you found out about it now.
