Heh here's an idea, wouldn't it be cool if we were all mature adult human beings with intelligence and we showed respect to one another and was genuinely interested in each others beliefs?

Then, when we wanted to talk to one another, we would all know what we were talking about?

Take the Bible for example, to effictively attack the Bible, I had to read it and learn about it to know what I was talking about. Wow, imagine that, an intelligent criticism!

What if creationists actually went to accredited Universities and took actual biology classes that taught about what The Theory of Evolution really was, and if they disagreed with it they would be able to intelligently talk about it; wow what a concept I know really right?

So wouldn't that be cool . . if people learned about things and then respectfully disagreed based on information and knowledge.

if we are to follow a religious leader, i feel that jesus is the best role model. he has a simple and plain message.
compassion and mercy
buddha comes second on my list
and the neat and clean lifestyles of these 2 people keeps attracting me towards their teachings even though i am an athiest

No, of course he didn't. So why do so many Christians treat the Bible, especially verses on homosexuality, as if they came directly from his mouth? If I'm wrong, and you do know of any passages in which Jesus refers to gays directly, could you point them out to me?

I am absolutely, knocked on my butt, sick as a dog. To top it off, my husband and I invited six friends for lunch at our house today and we are packing to move in two weeks. BUT. . . The kicker. . .I had to cancel last week as my nephew stayed with us and I couldn't get him going fast enough. 5 of the 6 friends would understand. The sixth would have his feelings hurt and think that because of my manic depression, I am cancelling, which isn't true.
