I take it you're not a Christian..
Look everybody has their own belief. Kill Americans and get 70 virgins in the afterlife. Some believe we come back as another person, like 9 times. Others believe in purgatory.
As for Christians, simply believing is all God asks. Faith is the only requirement to a good relationship with God. Christians are far from perfect. Some of us are worse than most. But we have faith, we believe in the Father. We understand that we are sinners and that we are far from perfect. Jesus died on the cross to forgive us of our sins. Nobody would make it to heaven today if he had not done that.
That's what the Christians believe.

The True Christian Faith can not be made known to others by any act of man. That includes the mistaken attempt of some otherwise well meaning Christians to "put the fear of God into people"... While there are those who seek God in moments of fear it is not fear that brings the understanding that is needed to bring one to the point of accepting Gods call to them. Coming to God is an act of surrender to God's will. and is something that is complicated enough that it can not be adiquatly related in this restricted forum.
As to Christians saying "they wont lose" if they are wrong... this is a turn around of the statements of many who reject God. They say there is nothing after death so they have nothing to lose in just doing whatever they want. The will not have to answer to any one for their actions after death... And... it is true that IF there were no God then those who believe there is will also not lose any thing when they "die"...it is not a seriouse statement by the Christian as one of The True Christian Faith KNOWS for a fact that there is indeed a God who will judge all accourding to their actions in this life..... And those of The Faith know exactly what those who reject God will lose.
I accept email questions concerning the basics of The Christian Faith. Or, you may read my pov and some about The Faith at:

Because they have nothing to loose to believe what is the worst that could happen if all christians are wrong. If all of us are wrong then when we die that is it. But , and we are right, if we are right then we have a chance to enter the kingsom of heaven and live in pure peace ans harmony with al inluding the animals. The onkly fear that is there is the fear of breaking the rules and being punished just as our earthly parents would punish us.

Please give us your definition of fear-based religion. My definition of a fear-based religion is a faith where the adherent is tormented into believing something that he/she knows is untrue (cultism) and in which every aspect of his/her life is controlled by enforcers. If he/she does not comply with any rule, then torture or death is administered. Fear-based religions operate on the physical plane to control and have little concern for the spiritual aspects of a person's life. Christianity is not a fear-based religion, but a loving relationship with Jesus Christ. In fact, it is not a religion at all in the sense that most people think of a religion. It is fellowship with God. All believers are priests and all believers have the right to fellowship with God directly. therefore, there is no need for an organized hierarchy in the form of a priesthood to access God for the believer. the Catholics have it all wrong. The purpose of a minister is to act as a shepherd, a guide in a life in Christ, not as an intercessor. Jesus Christ is our intercessor with the Father.

. Sorry to tell you this Jack, but it is YOU that is wrong. There are NO contradictions and impossibilities in the Bible But you might be right about those 8.7 million species that Noah had on the Ark he actually had about 8,000 KINDS of animals - The Bible is the absolute TRUTH of earth's formation and early history. Why religion bothers you; it's because you are absolutely ******* insane. and you appear to be a bronze age Middle-eastern goat herder. Wake up boyo, the Bible and God are real, as you will find out one day soon. . . .

I'm Christian and No part of my faith is fear based. Not all Christians are the same. You're thinking of the ones that are all over the media. They don't speak for all of us.

Are you admitting, then, that if it is love-based, it is true?
Our faith is based on the love of God for us, and our love for Him. That is why we cannot lose. Love ALWAYS wins, in the end.
(btw, I am one of those rare Christians who do not believe in everlasting punishment. Death AND it's nasty little companion, Hell aka "the grave", are BOTH scheduled to be destroyed, along with everything and everyone else that causes harm, in "The Lake of Fire". For more details on this, check out The Revelation of Jesus Christ to John.)
God bless you.

My faith comes from love, not fear. If you properly translate back into the Hebrew, you will learn that reverence of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
