No longer being Christian, of course I think it is nonsense.

Most Protestant religions do not believe in it. They believe that all sin is the same. Catholics, and a few Protestant religions, do believe in Original Sin. The reasons for the differences in beliefs come from the fact that most Protestants use a Bible that excludes several books (Martin Luther decided that several books of the Bible were not the inspired word of God and edited them from the Bible). The justification for several Catholic beliefs -- like Purgatory -- are in these books.

Catholics believe that Baptism washes Original Sin from the soul. This is why they believe it is important to baptize newborns. They believe that Mary is the only human (other than Jesus) to be born without Original Sin. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception refers to her being conceived without Original Sin. It does not refer to virgin birth -- as many believe.

Ack! I'm naked! It depends on what your interpretation of original sin is (and your interpretation of is is). Is it realizing that you are naked because Eve, the hussy, ate an apple? Is it because suddenly Eve realized Adam had a snake with an apple on the end? Eve ate of the tree of knowledge, enticed, weakest link that she was, by the slithery, prone to hissy-fits, devil himself. Suddenly she realized she was naked and Adam had a snake of his own, albeit much smaller, less active, and less vocal than the tree snake, with which to contend. I've always been unclear about the tree. I think maybe the tree of knowledge, or knowing, and we all know what it meant to biblically know someone, was actually Adams penis and the apple was the glans and eating the apple was the first recorded act of oral sex, and this whole act was brought about via the hissed instructions by the devil. So now we know what the tree and the apple were and what knowledge really meant, we can now address the question.

Is original sin nonsense. No, it seems quite plausible. Did Christ have original sin? Well, he was a healthy, by all accounts, young man, with many groupees, so it's almost implausible that he didn't do a little of his own knowledge gathering now and then. Did Mary have it? That's a tough one. We're expected to believe that Christ was conceived immaculately and we know that In Vitro fertilization was a long way off. We all arrived via some earlier interaction with the tree of knowledge, but, believing in her virginity (we have to in order for the story to work), then born of original sin, yes, guilty of it, no.

No one has it. Read Ezekiel 18.

Eze 18:1 A message came to me from the LORD. He said,
Eze 18:2 “You people have a proverb about the land of Israel. What do you mean by it? It says, “‘The parents eat sour grapes. But the children have a bitter taste in their mouths.’
Eze 18:3 “You will not use that proverb in Israel anymore,” announces the LORD and King. “And that is just as sure as I am alive.
Eze 18:4 Everyone belongs to me. Father and son alike belong to me. People will die because of their own sins.
...
Eze 18:19 “But you still ask, ‘Is the son guilty along with his father?’ No! The son did what was fair and right. He was careful to keep all of my rules. So you can be sure he will live.

Jesus was human, mostly likely a psychic ( or for those scared of that little word, a prophet). He tried to teach the world about the true loving God that truly is. Original sin is something the church made up to get people to attend and give money to the church. It is a control tool and not much else. He was not crucified for the sins of the world, but for his teachings of Mother and Father God, and their love for all they created... including us. Sin altogether is just a rouse for the church to gain control.

The only original sin is to think you have it.

Beware belief systems that make being human evil.

Original sin is really nonsense. We sin only when we freely choose to act wrongly.

Jesus was fully human as pertaining to flesh. He was also fully God pertaining to Spirit.

There had to be a blood sacrifice for all sin. To do that, God had to become Flesh. Therefore you have Jesus.

Can't get blood out of a spirit.

Mary had sin, she was human. Just like the rest of us.

i think Jesus' baptism took care of His original sin according to most Christians. Catholics say Mary didn't have it, but all other Christians say she did.

Listen son. Original sin is not stupid. You can ask my father, God. I'm sure he can "teach you manners".

And since I'm Jesus I can tell that I do not have original sin. Nope, never had it.

Now, who will you trust, Jesus or your own mind?

Kisses, Jesus Christ
