Personally I cannot understand why gay section is not within category Relationships, but is within Culture and grups!? Actually "gay..." is the only subgroup there!?!
Is homosexuality a culture? or is it a gruop for some separated from society for their wierd way of life!? I resent it! I feel discriminated as a gay!

Thanks for all the answers so far...
In no way can I agree that we must be grateful for having this little section here at all!
I'd like to remind you that if I want to I can write a gay topic in the Singles section, or wherever and see no way to be effectively stopped!
I think freedom's at our own hands!

It seems some of you think we have this place because it is specially for us! Don't agree, nothing shows it is specially for us, as it is a sub-sub-sub cathegory!
If it were in the Family&Relationship section, it would not have been for dating only or if ever, but for discussing our relationships!! because we have relationship, not a religion or some kind of cult!
And for those who think it's our choice to be gay, or bisexual, or transgendered, well, ok, it were your choice to be hetero, so what? Is my choice not as worthy as yours????

Hi. Thank you for speaking up. You are absolutely right. Sexual orientation is not a "lifestyle" or a "sub-culture". It is as natural as being straight. Therefore, we ought to be treated equally as human being, not isolated in this online ghetto.

Hmm, I suppose it could go either way really. Gay culture is just that..a culture unto itself and straights really have little or no place in it from what I've seen. Although it is a weird phenonmena that straight women and gay men get on really well and seem to understand one another completely.

I think also that there should be a place in family and relationships for gays. We do have them too you know, lol!

If you are gay you can not have a family in the true definition of a family. With one sex there isno child bearing, hence no family. I am not trying to rude or make anyone angry, but it is the truth. you have chosen a rough lifestyle and then want all others to condone it. I am sure by now you realize that isnot going to happen. I can help you by giving you good verse to read that may help you to get your life back on track and I can pray for you which I will. I will not judge you for that is alone up to God. I ca only judge the actions not the people. If you are gay you can read 1Corinthians 6:9-19 and maybe that will help you. Love in the Lord and prayers for a speedy recovery.

Gay is a culture, plenty of straight men love the Gay scene and will act the Gay role in all respects except the act of sodomy.
Gay is absolutely right to be in relationships, it is hardly a religion is it?

The placement is meant to make you feel grateful for the little crumbs dropped from Master's table, Master being the Almighty Righty Fundies, who don't know how to have Fun. I know it's no consolation, but just remember that these are the same folks are are destroying planet Earth by refusing to believe in scientific evidence for global warming.

I would take a guess that they weren't quite sure WHERE to put this section so they made one up.

Gay folks span the spectrum of cultures and experiences because we are part of all cultures. There really is no one place to but a GLBT section when classifying.

Because it's for the gay community, some people just want to talk about homosexuality or just coming out of the closet.

What you poofs do is your own business, but i for one am fed up with how much airtime you all get.
The lifes you lead are immoral and wrong, and you are worse than ethnic minorities at playing the discrimination card... if everybody was gay, there would be no human race, you should be thankful that you are tolerated to the level that you are.i am not, as you may think, homophobic, i am just fed up with with you ramming it down our throats about how acceptable gayness is.
Its a choice you have made, at one time you would have been shot for it, so put up and shut up queen

Because this topic is so broad, it could fit just about anywhere! They had to put it somewhere, so they thought that because of how broad of an area it is, they'll just give us our own little section of Yahoo! Answers to play around in. I don't think they were discriminating against us. I think they just felt like the best way would be to give us our own little space to ask questions about anything LGBT. Heck, I'd about take it as a compliment that they gave us our own little home on their servers.

There should be a special area also in the family section. We should all petition yahoo to do so
