I am asking this because it seems like alot of white americans wouldnt think it was a bad idea of putting black americans into bondage and servitude. It is also a major part of this countries history.

The problem is that we put our selves into slavery. we buy things that we on credit and pay more for the items than they are worth. then we have to work twice as hard to pay it back in some cases we spend most of our work life paying credit back than saving for retiremant.

so my answer is that slavery is already back and it is color blind.

Yes, but I would make sure that they worked 40 hours week or less with an hourly wage that they could afford to live on, any time over 40 hours they would get time and half. I would also make sure they received holiday pay, and vacation time after 6 months. Once they completed 90 days, they would have health insurance available to them, including dental. Oh, yes they would be alotted at least 5 personal days a year to call in sick or take off for any reason they needed.

Oh my god, I am a slave......

Are you really serious about people actually voting. I really think it would be seen as politically incorrect and would never make the ballot.

I would absolutely vote No. I can not imagine a human being being enslaved. I have a hard time not feeling bad for those that have some of the nastier jobs like garbage collecting, etc.

However, I'm sure some will respond that we already have slavery. To some degree that is probably true. The main difference between then and now is the freedom of movement and some laws that will protect those being brutalized.

Ha. That would never happen. Even if the government managed to set up a referendum on this subject, it would be shot down by the UN and Amnesty International. If through some freak chance, the US did bring back slavery it would be the end of the nation. There would be rioting in the streets, the government would be overthrown and someone else (maybe Canada?) would have to send in troops to restore order.

Wrong. It would be a very small number of whites that would think like that. Issues with reverse discrimination and favoritism don't have anything to do with slavery, where did you come up with that info? By the way, it would really be up to the blacks to vote. If you dig into history a bit you will learn a very simple fact. Whites didn't sail to Africa and go in the bush to hunt for slaves, the black man sold his sons and daughters, nephews, nieces, and anybody else he could trap to the whites. The first sell of their own people was by there own people. Our black brother and sisters need to quit bitching and be happy with equal. They are going to piss people off and end up in a race war. It's just like when they rob and burn their own neighborhoods, then cry that there is no store or post office to get their checks. Everyone bleeds out red blood to my knowledge, best I can tell people is to prey. Power in numbers.

Hope I helped with your question. Take care, Mr. Know

I am white and I think slavery is something that should never have been started in the first place. History tells us that the Africans were making slaves of the weaker tribes and selling them off for slavery. That particular dark spot in our nations history can never be forgotten or fixed. However, people need to learn to let go of the anger at some point so they can begin to heal. I would speak loudly against slavery as it is undignified and cruel and inhumane. People ought to be able to do their own days work for their own profit and if they need help then pay for it, don't expect someone else to be at your beck and call just because you may have bitten off more than you can chew.

As a white person who is married to a black woman and who is beyond the differences between black and white, let's make sure we realize that humans are humans. By treating whites as cornering the market on racism and thoughts that support slavery, you're ironically engaging in the same dynamic that slave owners engaged in: demonizing/objectifying a whole race (even if it's your own). All races have these negative and positive tendencies. Blacks engage in racism; white do, too. Black tribes in Africa had no problem capturing other blacks and selling them to whites for profit. It's all the same thing.

How would you feel if you were a black American and were put into bondage and servitude? Does that answer your question? I'd say NO. And I don't like blacks and I don't associate with them. And I'm not black.

I would vote NO! 1. slavery is just wrong! 2. An economy based on slavery doesn't work hence the civil war. 3.One of our constitutional rights would be broken. This is STILL the land of freedom! And I for one have and will put my toes on the line and stand up to any opposition to the rights proscribed by our for fathers...God bless America our home sweet home......

I am not sure what would even provoke you into asking such a question. I am white and I do NOT know ONE single person who would want this injustice brought back into our society.

Maybe we should put YOU into servitude and bondage and see how YOU like it.
