They say that you should never pull over for an unmarked police car, but keep driving and dial *77 which is a direct link to state trooper info. I have heard about this through forwards sent to me. and want to know:
IS *77 FOR REAL OR A MYTH?

Jesus a Cause for Division

"Do not think that I (Jesus) have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace, but the sword. For I have come to set a man 'against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one's enemies will be those of his household.'" (Mt. 10:34-36)

I am not trying to degrade Christianity, I am sincerely confused. What does this mean? Is it figurative or literal? Am I taking this out of context. Thanks in advance.

If there was somebody who never really believed in religion, but recently got "saved" and was on their way to church so that they could be baptised but they got in to a car accident and died immediately, would they still go to heaven even if they hadn't been baptised?

I mean God speaks to him so I'll guess yes.
Seriously though, It's sick what people can do when they think they are doing it in God's name.
That why I think we should all flush religion away at

I'm an atheist, but it absolutely astounds me that Christians(I know I'm generalizing ALL religions here) go on and on about homosexuality being an abomination.
If God created us in the womb, and he knows the day we will die, and all about us, and that good stuff from the beginning, then why would he create a person homosexual?
Based on my own feelings, tv programs I have seen, it is just insane that some people think homosexuals choose their lifestyle. It is certainly not a concious choice.
So, your god makes babies with disabilities, people who have life crippling illnesses from birth, etc, so why does he treat homosexuality differently? If they chose their lifestyle, then sure, but when a person feels beat internally from the begining, how can one say the ysimply choose to live in sin? What kind of god would make a person that way, only to condemn them?
That is some god you worship... And no, I do not think that god is punishing this country because of our support of gays.

I have been studying the Quran lately... I would just like to get Non-Muslims opinions about what they think of this verse.

"If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with (rape)her, and they be found; Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days."

This right here is THE MOST ridiculous answer I have seen on this site. I was appalled. How can so many people just twist and convert everything to suit their beliefs? It's sick!

Question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al1u7fxDFzVK7jjbBBAcEgfsy6IX?qid=20060907191050AAnEuUL

Specific Answer: think that the bible is becoming more clearer as time passes on. People are more in dept to study God's word. After all, God did say, Be fruitful and multiply.

The bible IS NOT becoming more clearer, you cannot contort what it says by saying read between the lines, and that there are hidden meanings! Like about working on the sabbath day, you will be put to death? The bible is meant to be taken literally. It is just that the church, and kings, have changed the bible to suit their needs time and time again. You cannot say that the bible is becoming clearer. That is ludicrous.

(do the math, billions) would end up burning in hell fire for eternity ? And is it possible once He realized his mistake he decided out of guilt to send his son to suffer? And if you beleive He knows all and was aware of how Eve would use her free will..then why cause so much suffering?

Every morning, I set out on my bike to High School. As I pass one corner, a group of junior high kids wait for their bus. One paticular kid is increasingly getting worse in his actions. First few times he makes comments. Then he starts jumping in front of me. Then he somehows has the same wooden stake out every morning now. Lately, he will start walking slowly in a way so that his path will intersect with me perpindicularly (with the stick) like he is going to throw it but doesn't. Now, he has cross the line and actually threw the stake at my spokes.
WHAT SHOULD I DO???!!!

I'm having this problem in the town I live in right now. I have had people, proclaiming they are Christian, tell me I'm going to fry in hell because I don't believe in what they believe in. I'm just starting on my Buddhist path, and I found their comments really offensive. So, I ask now: WHY?

The catholic church is finally seeing sense. Pope Benedict is calling the experts together to reject 'intellegent' design, ie creationism (who know what will come next - contraception?). This is an enormous victory for science, the theory of evolution and good old common sense. Now the only major religion that rejects evolution is islam. Will the fundamentalists who wish to promote creationism as science in schools now turn to the Immams for leadership?
