They say that you should never pull over for an unmarked police car, but keep driving and dial *77 which is a direct link to state trooper info. I have heard about this through forwards sent to me. and want to know:
IS *77 FOR REAL OR A MYTH?

Mostly an urban legend, but some states may have some truth to it. Check out:

Not sure about *77 but here in Tulsa, Oklahoma we have the new Dodge Chargers and they are all unmarked and may different colors. We have been advised by police that if someone tries to pull us over if you have a cel phone to call police and make sure it is a policeman. If you dont have a cel phone you should goto the nearest public place and then stop.

Heard of *HP for the hiway patol in several states but not *77.
As for pulling over find a well lighted place with people around.Or a police station if you can.

Hmm, the only *77 I know is for blocking your landline from getting private calls...

You should not dial your cellular while driving. But, you don't have to pull over right away--you can drive to the nearest public place, like a gas station.
