can some fool prove to me that the muslim god is the only god and that mohomed is the last prophet? every religion has a God, and how am i supposed to know that the muslim God is the true one?
answers welcome , but i need answers based on commonsense and not long diatribes from the koran as i do not believe in any religious bunk ok?

I do, because I know that God is love (1 John 4:16)
I cannot see God as a merciless torturer of souls who torments the people not in the Book of Life for eternity.
I believe when God says the wicked and unrepentant are destroyed he really means destroyed as in dead - never ever existing again. That is enough for God I cannot see the benefit and joy God will have in the most barbaric way of tormenting souls.
Just does not go with the God I know who is love.
God is love and love doesn't torture.

Raised a Catholic, I know the roots of Christianity is Judaism with a focus on Jesus and everything that goes with that. As with Islam we share in Abraham's monotheastic "One God" and we learn lessons from the same prophets. Can I then not study and embrace the teachings of Mohammed too? Can I do both? Do I have to chose? Why or why not? Please post your answers (no offsite page links please)

I'm an atheist, i choose to highlight christianity cos i know more about it than any other religion (i've had my brushes with christianity). I've seen lots of christians saying the bible is literal, others say its symbolic so my question is this? If you are a christian do you think its literal or symbolic? If its literal then how do you explain such stories as noah's ark as there is no way he could get 10 billion species of animals on 1 boat. And those who believe it is symbolic, how can you say its the work of god if its symbolic because that shows that it didn't really happen and its just stories. I don't mean any offence by this i am truely interested in your beliefs.

The man who has asked me to marry him is a Muslim from some middle east country, I don't remember where. He seems to have a lot of money and has showered me with expensive dinners, champaign, caviar, clothing, jewelry, limo rides, etc. I can just tell that he loves me by all the attention he gives me!

We are planning to marry next weekend in Vegas. We haven't really talked about religion, but my Christian faith is everything to me. Do you think we'll be able to get along together?

Do you prefer to be called black or African American? I'm just curious because some people I know are completely offended at being called African American because they want this whole racial thing to subside, so they actually prefer just being a black "American", just like I am a white "American". Then you find people that still want to be called African American, but they don't actually have any African ancestors. I know Oprah can't stand it when people call her "African American". What do you prefer?

Nearly everyone drinks alcohol It is supposed to be so much more shocking to take drugs. But a medical book I read a long time ago makes the point that alcohol is just a type of drug in liquid form. And what is so terrible to want to feel a bit of happiness in this sad, scary world?Not all people kill or go crazy on drink or drugs, plenty of idiots do it anyway.People who have a drink seem to think they are more virtuous because so called government leaders decree that only drug takers are "bad".It is all mind altering stuff anyway....

I just met a great guy this weekend! I'm so excited. He suggested that we fly to Vegas and get married by a justice of the peace but I wanted to get married in the church again.

So, we are going to Vegas next weekend and will get married there. Do you know of a good Christian church in Vegas where we can get married?
