ArnieSchivaS,You are the one acknowledging more than one GOD,GOD is called by many names and sometimes attributes of God are refered to as lord or god, such as apollo, zeus, krishna, christ, jesus, mary,if you are worshiping GOD through them and understand the difference it makes no difference.

Great question!

The books in the bible ave very specific histories.

However, since mankind started thinking in highly abstract manners we have tried to codify the way in which to live peacefully. This has been done by many civilizations during many different periods.

When one studies the different 'religious' and sacred texts you do see a common theme develop. As such, earlier works will have an impact on the collective works of those that follow.

So people could argue about if the bible's 'roots' come from it, but they would be missing the point.

Again, great question!

Ber fore you ask a question , kindly get your facts right. There is nothing like " RIG VADA's ". VADA is a native South Indian Dish.
So Bible cannot have its root in them there.

Now if you meant RIG VEDA's then things are a little different. The Bible cannot have had its root in RIG VEDAs because in the latter much more importance is given to more then one God namely INDRA, AGNI , VARUNA, MITRA and SOMA etc. These are in no way related or even comparable to " Trinity " of the Bible simply because of the ideas in RIG VEDA regarding the Gods mentioned therein. SOMA is a potion or a plant from which it is made. There is no mention or SOMA or anything as such in the Bible.

The very fact of the multiplicity of GODS in RIG VEDA goes against the idea the BIBLE had its roots in RIG VEDA.
It is possible that the great interest the Western Scholars give to it that sort of makes one think that Bible had its root in RIG VEDA.
