Raised a Catholic, I know the roots of Christianity is Judaism with a focus on Jesus and everything that goes with that. As with Islam we share in Abraham's monotheastic "One God" and we learn lessons from the same prophets. Can I then not study and embrace the teachings of Mohammed too? Can I do both? Do I have to chose? Why or why not? Please post your answers (no offsite page links please)

im not a muslim myself but u have absolutely NO right to criticise a religion like tht!!! Billy, i think u CAN be a good muslim as well as a good Christian..Its YOUR faith....if u feel right and comfortable...YOU CAN.

And you dont have to choose if you dont want to. Its your life and God (if u want to believe in a God) will forgive you how ever way u choose to worship him...All Religions lead to the same one God anyway....

Mohammed said that it's not possible for God to have a son, so you do kind of have to choose. But there's nothing at all wrong with studying the teachings of both of them. They both had some really awesome things to say.

Yes you have to choose

if you read about Islam you will find that Muslims respect Jesus more than Christians themselves
besides Islam is the only relegion that says god is one

Christianity & Judiasm used to be monothestic too but they were corrupted by men over time for selfish reasons, but The Quran is the Only book which wasn`t corrupted til now, even all sects of Muslims follow the same Quran, the TRANSLATIONS can differ but the ORIGINAL scripture is the same all over the world

also by accepting Christianity you are rejceting Muhammad

but by accepting Islam your are not rejecting anyone

& don`t believe any Crap about Islam being an evil relegion

continue your own studies & readings

I advise you to read books for Karen Armstrong

May God guide you for the straight path

No. Jesus' teachings on humility, mercy, non-resistance to violence, the relative unimportance of outward religious practices (ritual prayer, ritual cleanliness, etc.) are antithetical to Muhammad's. Read the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew chapter 5-7, and you'll see that there nothing comparable in the Qur'an or the Sunnah. Read the passage in John about the woman taken in adultery. Jesus says the woman can only be condemned by the sinless (i.e., by no one); in an identical circumstance, Muhammad ordered an adulterous woman to be stoned. Jesus' teaching is higher. Read with your heart and you'll know it's true.

No you cannot be both christian and muslim, NO. we do not share in Islam one god , as they do not believe inthe 3 persons in one God. NO.- you cannot study and embrace both teachings ..
YES. You have to chose because it will determin your future life when you die, either heaven or hell,,,, the choice is yours. Deuteronomy 30:19-says-This day i call heaven and earth as witnesses that i have set before you LIFE AND DEATH,BLESSINgs AND CURSES. NOW, choose life,so that you and your family may LIVE.
John 3:16- 'UNLESS A MAN IS BORN AGAIN HE CANNOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN" ask Jesus into your heart, old things will pass away, all things are new , HE is the way the truth and the life. Have faith and believe that Jesus is Lord, ask HIM into your heart and your gift from HIM is eternal life period....
thats it .///// I did 30yrs. ago and I know in whom I believe that He is able to do more than I could ever ask,,,,,

There are many of Mohammed's thoughts and ideas we can address to our everyday lives-----no matter what religion we are. But, the one big issue as to why you cannot be both Christian and Muslim is Jesus. This is the same reason a person cannot be a Jew and a Christian at the same time.

Muslims and Jews say-----and I believe----G-d is One. He was and is and forevermore shall be.

Christians say Jesus is holy-either their god or the son of their god.

Again, there is only one G-d.

The answer is NO. But if you want to study about mohammed, go ahead & you will see some of the awlful things he did. Your muslims only go by what mohammed taught them They care less about Abraham, Moses, Eligah, Muslims is from the seed line of Ismeal, & not Isaacc, Ismeal is from the bond woman, the promise of God was to Isaacc.

NO! Jesus is the only way to salvation!
Philippians 2: 1 - 11 says, in part, " ...so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven (the angels) and those on earth (humans) and those under the ground (the dead), and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father."
John 14: 6 says, " I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Muhammad was a self-condemned mass-murderer. He wrote about his own murders, and the massacres that he approved.

Jesus' teachings and his way of life were so superior to that of Muhammad's murderous existence, that to consider them equal is ludicrous, and blasphemous!

no u cant, because in this world we cant get everything u want so u have to choose one of that religion depends on ur faith. If u choose both of it, it will distract ur concentration. And some of the rules in christian is forbidden to muslim and so does muslim to christian.
