I recently read on this forum some stories of people who used to believe in a religion and later in life became an atheist. I was just wondering if there is anyone here who has had a conversion experience from atheism to any religion, or from one religion to another (Jew to Christian, for example) It would be interesting to hear your stories and your experiences of how you were lead to your particular religion. Thank you.

Well this is a common response when the matter of our evolutionary origins comes up, but of course we are apes, not monkeys - Monkeys have tails, apes do not (little biology lesson there, hope you enjoyed it).

Why is it so unpleasant to think that we are apes, descended from other apes? We are what we are, regardless of where we came from - We haven't suddenly lost our capacity for empathy or compassion or love, just because we know that we're a species of animal, rather than the special creation of a deity. What exactly is the problem? Does the monstrous ego of theists prevent them from accepting that they're not, after all, the centre of the universe?

i had asked this question but i didnt add enough detail and couldnt reply to the other yahoo person so what the issues are with this fraud was i ordered two items from him off his online website called Ausielindo. they are suppose to be wholesalers and offer EMS tracking. i paid him $400 via wire transfer. He took over 2 weeks to get back to me with a tracking number. It was like impossible to talk with this person because his english was horrible and kept saying i should receive the items soon etc etc the tracking number seems be valid through a cargo service called jdexpress.com however i only received one response from them and now it has been over 5 weeks and they have responded to any of my emails. As for Ausie lindo he has closed his site and email and seems to have run off. who knows if sent me fake items or nothing at all? i am usually quite good at digging up stuff on ppl but since i was in a rush to buy these items as a gift it was my own fault for not investigating further

First of all, I want to warn you that I don't need someone to feel sorry for me!
I am bisexual woman, but having sex more often with men than with women. I was raped about 3 years and half ago. After that my attraction to the women it's getting lower and lower everyday ( and I was said to expect the opposite). And my feelings and my sexual life with men didn't change at all. But I began to be really curious about men homosexual relationships. Gay movies started to excite me, the best sexual excitment to me is to imagine two men having sex ( I am usually imagining a younger and very beautiful man who is passive having sex with man 15-20 years older than him). I began to think the love between two men is stronger than any other love. A friend of mine, who knows about that gay excitment (but doesn't know about the rape) told me that I am like gay man stuck in a woman body.

Could this gay excitment be caused by the rape?

Before you go crazy, I don't think evolution is false unless it excludes God. For those of you who don't believe in God but do believe in evolution this question is for you. But if you want to bring creationism into school let's be fair and make it compulsory to teach evolution in every house of worship in America. If you want to teach fairy tales in schools then let's make science a part of your church.

I feel like I am in over my head. The tabloids keep printing all these things about me that are untrue, and it is ruining my life. It is completely embarassing and I am getting known more for my reputation than for my work. I enjoy what I do. But, why are celebrities treated like this? We have all these fans and are treated so nice when we go places, but when it comes to our private lives we are treated like dog sh*t! I was in the operating room with a 27 year old woman, a young surgeon, and 2 sixty plus old nurses and me, 40. If they would get their acts together, then maybe they can get a decent man like other cultures of women, and not be stuck with the closet gay black men and the pimps, (the ones who try to screw as many black women as they possibly can in the shortest period of time).
