God the father is like the SUN, and Jesus Christ is like the sun's rays. The rays have always proceeded from the sun, just like Jesus has always proceeded from the father. The holy spirit is the warmth you feel if you are in the sun's presence.

Dearest writer,
The Bible does support the Trinity. God initially called Himself Yahweh to Moses in the Old Testament. His son, Jesus Christ was expected after hundreds of predictions, also in the Old Testament. God and Christ both identify Christ as the son of God. When Jesus was baptized, he came out of the water and God said, "This is my son, whom I am well pleased." Jesus also calls himself the Son of God and the Son of Man. Jesus told the disciples that the Holy Spirit would come to them only after he ascended into heaven, which it did (read Acts). Please read First John, as this is a wonderful place to start. Pray that God would open your heart and spirit to understand the scriptures. The holy spirit comes upon a person that believes Christ is the Saviour of the world.
It is still a mystery even to Christians, but we do know the Holy Spirit has a personality, as we're told not to grieve Him, He can turn away if our hearts are cold long enough, and we're not to curse, or blaspheme Him. In fact, that last point is the one unforgivable sin, so He is a part of the God-headship.
God Bless in your asking,
Darcel

I've added the definition of Trinity below, but I've also heard it described this way: think of a rope. It is 3 seperate strands twisted together, these 3 strands make up one rope. You wouldn't call a rope "ropes" because it's made of 3 parts, just like you wouldn't call God "gods".
"Trinity: a word not found in Scripture, but used to express the doctrine of the unity of God as subsisting in three distinct Persons. This word is derived from the Gr. trias, first used by Theophilus (A.D. 168-183), or from the Lat. trinitas, first used by Tertullian (A.D. 220), to express this doctrine. The propositions involved in the doctrine are these: 1. That God is one, and that there is but one God (Deut. 6:4; 1 Kings 8:60; Isa. 44:6; Mark 12:29, 32; John 10:30). 2. That the Father is a distinct divine Person (hypostasis, subsistentia, persona, suppositum intellectuale), distinct from the Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. That Jesus Christ was truly God, and yet was a Person distinct from the Father and the Holy Spirit. 4. That the Holy Spirit is also a distinct divine Person."

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one person, but there are 3 different ways he represents himself. The Father is the the head, He runs everything. The Son had to come to earth, so He is the rest of the body. The Holy Spirit is the part of God that inspires us. The HS gets us back up when we fall down, in the non-literal sense.

The Trinity is a non-Biblical term. The Bible refers to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as the Godhead. Each is a separate personage. Jesus was not a ventriliquist when Heavenly Father's voice said "this is my beloved son".

When Jesus was baptized. Jesus was in the water, the Father was speaking from heaven and the Holy Spirit came down in a form of a dove.

St. Patrick compared the Trinity to a shamrock.

Just as the three leaves of the shamrock all have 1 stem, the Three Persons Of the Trinity are All the 1 True God.

The father, son and the holy ghost... and oh yeah, the virgin Mary.
The quadrinity???????
And seeing as how the virgin Mary is actually becoming a bigger figure than Christ we can see a lot of change coming to the church in the next 100 years.
Marians, that will be the next group of ignorant people.

Why is this hard? I thought everyone understood the general principle behind the trinity:

God is the brain, Jesus is the body and the Spirit is the spirit. Just like you, mind, body and soul.
