know? I receive a massive amount of rude rmarks. Yet you have this crazy guy posting things like "I AM? I AM? and "Yahweh? Yahweh? and thats all it says, yet you don't insult him? I don't see that he/she is asking a question, he/she is more or less teasing and other answer with a tease. How can you justify one with insults and not the other? Just curious as to the average persons thinking? Any thoughts?

Chinese Supersition! They omit the number four just because it SOUNDS LIKE the chinese word death. In chinese characters the character which makes up the word death and the number four is so much difference, yet they taboo the number four. Wheres the common sense to all this?

What percentage of your prayers seem to have any effect on the outcome of events? If you pray and ask God for it not to rain today during your picnic, and it rains anyway, do you forget about it, or chalk that up to a "no" answer whereas if you pray for a safe car trip on and you arrive unscratched do you tend to remember that as an example of answered prayer, or a "yes" answer. If two christians pray for opposite teams to win a football game, how come God only answers the prayer of one of them?

In our Judeo-Christian society, the documents collectively known as the Bible serve as the primary guide on most issues. It is interesting that many Christians take literally the references to homosexual acts, while interpreting other text with great flexibility. One person reported listening to a nationally-known woman speak in her campaign against homosexuality. She spent quite a bit of time quoting impressively from Leviticus. The listener accepted much of what the speaker said until he realized that, by Levitical standards, the crusader herself had broken many biblical laws – she spoke in church (1 Corinthians 14:34), she taught men (1 Timothy 2:12), she was wearing a dress made of cotton and polyester (Deuteronomy 22:11), and others of which he was probably unaware.

What does the Bible really say about homosexuality? Actually, very little. Most significantly, Jesus said nothing at all. Considering the relatively small amount of attention the Bible pays to the subject, we must ask ourselves why this is such a volatile issue. Other subjects about which the scriptures say a great deal (e.g. judgment, pride, hypocrisy) receive much less passionate attention. Before looking at specific passages, it is important to note that everyone understands the scriptures based on, and through, the light of what they have been taught. The Bible was not written in a cultural void, and many of its instructions and laws are simply classified as less relevant today (e.g. prohibition against eating pork).

Nowhere does the Bible actually address the idea of persons being lesbian or gay. The statements are, without exception, directed to certain homosexual acts. Early writers had no understanding of homosexuality as a psychosexual orientation. That truth is a relatively recent discovery. The biblical authors were referring to homosexual acts performed by persons they assumed were heterosexuals.

I'm not referring to the computer-type spelling such as - ur, or ppl, etc. It just seems as if so many of the questions and answers on this board have mispellings, are grammatically incorrect and are basically incoherent. What is going on - why can't people write? It makes people appear ignorant and it's a little scary how prevalent it is.

I don't know if it's just me, but every year around this time, I notice more cops on patrol and hiding out to catch speeding cars.

I live in NJ, but do any of you notice this wherever you live?

why does society praise celebrities instead of docctors or scientist?
celebrities have really not done too much for humanity, but doctors save lives and make tremendous impact on humanity, so do teachers, scientist, anthropologist why doesnt the media give us more on them, rather than sport people or untalented people, movie stars, why not soldiers, fire men, religious leaders, why is society so lame, and then they wonder why our society is so jacked up
