During those times when Jesus lived there was a habit among occultist to steal dead body for the purpose of occultism, especially of great men. This tradition of occultist has been documented in many oriental cultures and thereby people burned the dead body to keep the Occultist at bay.

I'm hoping this doesn't draw any negative comments, so if you don't like it, you don't have to comment. This comes from "Examining the Scriptures Daily 2006" published by Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania.

“Whether you are eating or drinking or doing anything else, do all things for God’s glory.”-1 Corinthians 10:31.

In everyday life, even in small ways, we want to show that we “slave for Jehovah.” (Romans 12:11) When making decisions, for example, we want to be careful to take into account the will of our heavenly Master, Jehovah. (Malachi 1:6) Difficult decisions may test our obedience to God. Will we then heed his counsel rather than follow the inclinations of our “treacherous” and “desperate” heart? (Jeremiah 17:9) As slaves of God, we must not become slaves of men. (1 Corinthians 7:23) True, none of us like to be unpopular, but we must bear in mind that Christians have standards that are different from those in the world.

How can I do it? I've invited God a number of times but God is always too busy. No time for me, guess my problems are negligible to God.

Or, maybe, my communication channels are blocked.

Ok, why do religionist seem to dismiss evolution or any other theory of creation when it runs into a contradiction. Religion, God, and the bible have ran into many contradictions but still they don't get dismissed. Why?

Most if not all would say, "No!" Get real. People do affect our attitudes wether you choose to agree or disagree. "BUT", I'm slowly but surely learning how to get past that. It's not easy. Here are "real" life examples that we deal with on a daily.

1. Another drivers cuts in front of you. No turn signals!

2. Cashier gives you attitude for no apparent reason.

3. Rude customer service in whatever department store you frequent.

4. Someone cuts in front of you while waiting in line and then proceeds to give you attitude when you tell them politely, "Excuse me, but I was standing in line first."

Anyone remember the theme tune to the old Baretta TV show sung by Sammy Davis? The chorus said, "keep your eye on the sparrow when the going gets narrow." In this usage, is "sparrow" a slang term for something/one else? If so, what? Is it specifically African American/60's/NYC? Thanks.

Does Christ talk about amassing personal wealth for personal benefit in the Bible, or does he teach against it?

Christians have been incredibly opposed to the book "The Da Vinci Code". Every Christian I have encountered who has said bad things about this book has never read it. How can they possibly say that it is wrong and sacreligious if they don't even know what its contents are? Is it because they believe what they hear? They are told that "The Da Vinci Code" is anti-Christian and that is what they believe. Rather than being informed so that they can intelligently debate the subject, they prefer to be ignorant and judge something that they know nothing about. They don't seem to understand that the book is classified as fiction and the references to Jesus and other Christian subjects pertain to the plot of the book. If they read the book, they would understand that.

I would like to hear from a Christian who has actually read this book instead of stricly believing what they are told. Thoughts, opinions, etc?

I believe that religion is a cult. Religion as a whole. My friends have said that they are not religious, but spiritual. I can grasp that, but religion (catholic, mormon, etc.) is a cult. Does anyone agree with me, or are you all brain washed by the cult?

"For The Jim Darwin?
Jesus said, "Without Me ye can do nothing" (John 15:5).

Any other questions? :d"

Can we all comment on how this argument is ineffectual?

Example: It's kinda like saying, "Well my Dad says..." It's just not gonna get through to someone who thinks your Dad is, well, wrong.

I think this is a very good example argument to work with to help Christians, who I see make similar arguments all the time, better construct their statements supporting a believe in God. More suggestions?
