Ahhh...the ol' space-time continuum - a curse or a blessing? Because we live in "time" we have no conception of what existence would be like without it. But I think "eternity" as it relates to "eternal life" and such religious concepts is probably getting at life outside of space-time - an eternal now, per se.
And that's not so scary unless the eternal now happens to be at that exact instant when you stub your toe, or something like that.

No. God is outside of Time which he created for us because He is not limited. So Eternity is simply the absence of measurable time. It's the passage of time that scares most people...so if it stops passing you by and you simply "are", where's the problem?
Where you will Spend Eternity, now that's another question. I know where I'm going and it's a good place, so I'm not scared.
It's life, that gets to me.

Depends on what happens in that eternity, but just eternity doesn't scare me. Eternal existence would make me very happy.

Eternity does scare me because of the unknown mystery of death. Infinity and forever are difficult concepts to grasp by the human mind. But I am grateful to know that there is life after death and I know that I'm going to heaven for sure. So I guess death is something min-ute issue to deal with before I meet all the angels in heaven and of course my God and King.

Each day that we awaken, the Lord gives us an opportunity to prepare ourselves for eternity. We must follow his Ten Commandments and treat all that he has made, with respect. Even if someone is abusive toward me, I will treat that person with reverence. I don't have to wait somewhere with anticipation to be abused. I can certainly leave the scene of the abuser, but I don't have to be foolish because he/she is "acting out." Know this, that you only have to satisfy God. The rest of the folk don't count. I personally read Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) and let God oversee my life. This psalm is long but worth every moment of my time. You see, God will see what we can't. Therefore, I make it easy on myself by asking Him to look into all situations that are forthcoming, so that the bad don't have to occur. At least, the Lord will make sure that YOU don't have to be entangled in any mess out in the world. I read Psalm 4 for (Safety and Protection) and this helps me as well. I love Psalm 68:19, "The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." Selah. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

Once upon a time, twin boys were conceived. Weeks passed and the twins developed. As their awareness grew, they laughed for joy: "Isn't it great that we were conceived? Isn't it great to be alive?"
Together the twins explored their world. When they found their mother's cord that gave them life, they sang for joy! "How great is our mother's love, that she shares her own life with us!"
As weeks stretched into months, the twins noticed how much each was changing. "What does it mean?" asked one.
"It means our stay in this world is drawing to an end." said the other.
"But I don't want to go," said one. "I want to stay here always."
"We have no choice," said the other. "But maybe there is life after birth."
"But how can there be?" responded one. "we will shed our life cord and how is life possible without it? Besides, we have seen evidence that others were here before us, and none of them has returned to tell us there is life after birth. No, this is the end. Maybe there is no mother at all."
"But there has to be," protested the other. "How else did we get here? How do we remain alive?"
"Have you ever seen our mother?" said one. "Maybe she only lives in our minds. Maybe we made her up because the idea made us feel good."
So, the last days in the womb were filled with deep questioning and fear. Finally, the moment of birth arrived.
When the twins had passed from their world, they opened their eyes and cried for joy - for what they saw exceeded their fondest dreams.
That is death as experienced by Christians.

I personally am very excited. I would like to share something that might interest you and make eternity more inviting. It is the hope that the Bible holds out for the future. Jesus mentioned it at Matthew 5:5.

It does. But then I realize I'm lucky to have ever lived in the first place, and that I should at least be thankful for that instead of scared of returning to where I came from- the void.
