The Holy Spirit lives in all believers and enables them to understand God's word. However, It's very important to earnestly pray for discernment, wisdom and understanding.

Most people believe the bible is a random collection of fables used to scare children into having good morals.
Until there is scientific evidence proving the events occurred in the bible, the general populice will not have the faith to accept the tales for fact.

Many people read the Bible. They don"t understand it because, They don"t take time to study the Bible. You can not read a verse and make judgment. You need to read the chapter, and study it. Pray. Ask God to give you the wisdom, and knowledge to understand.

Most people do not read the bible but let others tell them what is supposed to be in it and believe that rather than searching it out for themselves. That is why there is so many churches and so much confusion today.
