Ok, why do religionist seem to dismiss evolution or any other theory of creation when it runs into a contradiction. Religion, God, and the bible have ran into many contradictions but still they don't get dismissed. Why?

Because religious people go to church and a man tells them what to think. They have a series of excuses to explain away contradictions in the Bible. Eventually through a form of brainwashing these people will believe almost anything they are told, which includes a ridiculous hyper-skepticism to science.

Yeah, you're right. There does seem to be a more intense response from Christians regarding the creation-evolution issue.
I think it's because evolutionists are smacking right up against the whole God is:
all-powerful
beginning and the end
ultimate creator
maker of life

I think these beliefs are mandatory requirements for all theists, so evolution strikes at the core of the faithful, thus eliciting a strong defensive response.

I, too, wish the faithful could come to some theological understanding that might ease their tension.

Well, a lot of the information that creationists bring to us can be pr oven false. Also, you have to remember that they take current information and come up with a possible way that things have started. for an animal to mutate and "evolve" is OK. However, to say that people had 97% similar DNA of apes is a far cry from what happens. Also carbon and argon dating are not accurate so we can't even prove how old items are. Another thing is that there has been no evidence of a "missing link" that we have found. The last thing is that Scientists always assume that there is no supernatural power. Therefore they assume that there is no God and make up a solution to prove it. I can remember making up mathematical solutions where 1 = 2 but there has always been a flaw with it. So for every creationists thought there has always been a major problem with what they have "found" or thought.

Evolution runs into contradictions, not only with the Bible, but also with other science. That's why we oppose it.

"Intelligent Design," on the other hand, doesn't contradict the facts, just the evolutionists' interpretation of those facts.

As far as contradictions in the Bible, name one. I have heard atheists claim that there's a contradiction on every page, but they have yet to name a single one.

Most Christians do not understand the bible, but they do know that it is truth!

Those that know the bible and understand it, know that evolution is a joke, a religion of its own, and one that (unlike Baal) will not go away.
