Would it be fair to say that believing that the IPU doesn't exist IS your religion? Then why can't you understand that atheism is not a religion either? You don't believe in Zeus. Does that mean that you practice the religion of not believing in Zeus? Is baldness a hair color? How do you figure your dishonest word games will win anybody over to submitting to your way of thinking? It's pretty Orwellian and funny when you use your doublespeak to claim both that "Atheism is a religion" and that "your belief in Jesus is not a religion" in the same breath. No wonder you love the verse that says that it is all foolishness to those who don't believe. It must supply you with some comfort.

I am a female. I dress like one and I act ladylike as I believe. I do not feel that I am oppressed by this, neither do I try to mandate that all women should live as such. To each their own. What I am saying is that I am not alone and many other women of different beliefs feel the same way and do not wish to be "liberated." Women have always been more than equal as far as I am concerned. {Just ask my husband, I tend to get respect and dignity, he likes to eat.}

written by a lady in CA in 1890 in response to a gentleman in PA, who said he would pay $1000 to any who could make a riddle he could't solve..he had to pay the lady. but the money went to an 8 year old boy who knew the answer.

one word, five letters long, in the King James version 4 times:
God made Adam out of dust, but thought it best to make me first. So i was made before the man, according to God's holy plan. My body is complete, without arms, or hands, or feet. My ways and acts did God control, but in my body he placed no soul. A living being i became, and Adam gave to me a name. Then from his presence i withdrew, for this man Adam, i never knew. All my Maker's laws i do obey, and from them i never stray. Thousands of me go in fear, and seldom on earth appear. I travel from pole to pole, thousands of people did my death bright lights behold. Fear of death doesn't trouble me; for pure joy i will never see. so get your bible, read with care, you will find my name recorded there

Sometimes the toilet can give you illusions of degradation, whereas the sink provides a sense of comfort.

I grew up in a Pentecostal family. I used to attend Baptist churches. I guess you would say "I used to be a Christian." I still believe in God, just not in the same way as most people. I feel that God has done a lot of great things in my life, but I do not subscribe to the whole Bible/Jesus/Moses/Commandments/Holy Land rhetoric.

My main beef with Christians is that some denominations go around with a "holier than thou" attitude, pushing their religious beliefs on other people, telling people they NEED to accept Jesus into their hearts, and telling people that they will be praying for them.

You know, here in the Midwest USA, if a Jew went around "preaching the gospel" of Judaism to people, or if a homosexual went around trying to turn people gay, there would be a MASSIVE backlash from society at large. BUT, Christians seem to think that they can do the same thing without consequence because they are "right."

Why can't Christians keep their religious preferences to themselves?

I have little money that will probably be used for gas and need a place to chill with my girlfriend. We have enough bud and just want somewhere to smoke it. What could we enjoy to satisfy our mood?

To have an evolution there are two things you would need, one is a span of time, and the other would be change. The “Creation” took place over six days (the seventh being the workless day of rest), which is a time span, and each day something was added, which is “change”. If God said “Let all that I desire exist”, and...poof...it was suddenly there, then that would be creation absolute! But it did not work that way. Maybe God is the ultimate Mad Scientist!!!

Anyone with a brain knows these simple facts: That if you are Christian, you have to commit a sin to help spread AIDS, commit a crime, not take responsibility for creating children, or murdering them. Why would a MORAL ATHEIST call people who believe this stupid? Do they simply misunderstand Christianity, or are they actually immoral people?

I don't drink haterade, but I do think us heterosexuals are being excluded from many of the same celebrations and events as homosexuals. Disneyland doesnt have a heterosexual day. There is no heterosexual parade in Hollywood. Nobody wants to discuss the trials and tribulations of havin a sincere heterosexual monogamous relationship anymore. Heterosexuals are battlin for the right to not have their kids (Elementary school aged) learn about homosexual heros, based on their sexuality. How many straight people are fighting to have their sexual exploits written about in school text books? Thats not equality. Me thinks there is some fit hittin the shan, and it doesnt smell good.

Now...wait a minute hate accusers...
I don't hate or fear homosexuals, but Im comparing homosexual freedoms to mine, and wondering should I be fighting to get more of what you have.

I have read several posts about how Christianity/Islam/Judaism oppresses women. I am curious to hear how my faith has oppressed me as I am quite happy with my life. If someone wishes to they are free to believe and choose what to believe and where to worship. It is not a demand.

i became a christain at 17 , and since then i have walked a walk of suffering/pain/and many many losses i am 45 now and nothing has changed no matter how obediant i am to him and his word. how does god pick who he will bless and protect ? how does he pick who walks a walk of constant pain /rejection and loss...? my walk w/him has been sheer determination and i guess you would call faith because i know that the world (tho they look like that they are prospering more than the children of god are) has nothing to offer but the same and more.... so how does god choose? that is my question ....i am ready to give up ! i am tired and lonley and i need to have more than a pin point of light that illuminates my path my eyes are be comming blurry and weary/i want to see the glory of god and i want and need to have a breakthrough in my life ,i am at the point that i need to see gods word in action in my life! pls pls do not answer if all you have is a critical and judgmentalness to offer!

So many people on Yahoo call us names and make fun of us. I am not offended, I just feel very sorry for all the people who don't believe in Jesus. You sound scared and lost.

I've heard that some buddhists take vows of silence that can last years, and I don't understand how they could do it. People say I'm quiet, but I have a strong need to express myself when I have a pressing thought. A vow of silence might drive me crazy.

On my previous question i asked about bible-interpretations. I used Romans 1:26-27 as an example, because i do not interprete it as being about homosexuality.

In Romans 1:26-27 the apostle Paul describes non-Jewish women who exchange "natural use for unnatural" and non-Jewish men who "leave the natural use of women, working shame with each other."

When i go back 2,000 years and try to understand why, i understand this:

Paul is writing this letter to Rome after his missionary tour of the Mediterranean. On his journey Paul had seen great temples built to honor Aphrodite, Diana, and other fertility gods and goddesses of sex and passion instead of the one true God the apostle honors. Apparently, these priests and priestesses engaged in some odd sexual behaviors -- including castrating themselves, carrying on drunken sexual orgies, and even having sex with young temple prostitutes (male and female) -- all to honor the gods of sex and pleasure.

I'm not bashing or anything, but if they are so comfortable with it and see nothing wrong with it, why do they always display stickers and flags? It's like they're asking for attention, good or bad. Straight people don't flash that they're straight.
