I didn't want to answer this question because it just seemed well thought out until I read your last sentance, that "you sound scared and lost" which is a stereotypical attitude that not every christian has.
But, statements like that, which are degradeing and insulting, are part of why I make fun of the religion that causes people to become these stereotypes.
I'm not making fun of you, you've obviously been brainwashed or something, its not your fault, its a really well written bible that keeps saying its the truth and anyone who says other wise is a liar, and they are lost.
You probably think writing this question you might save a soul.
So, its not you I attack, I wish to save you from this poisonous Christianity if I could. But I can't do that really. All I can do is point out how this Bible is ridiculous. Hopefully one or two Fundamentalist Christians will read and say oh thats a good point and stop being fundamentalist Christians. So far I've succeeded with three persons.
Let me give you an example, Leviticus 18:22 says having homosexual sex is an abomination. So theres lots of people who are against gay marraige because of this. Now, in Leviticus 11:9-12 it says eating shrimp is an abomination. Thats kinda ridiculous don't you think.
I'm not really an opponent of Jesus or of Christians, just this brainwashing that all who dont have Jesus are lost and scared, and the driving of a political agenda that stems from this poison that takes the Bible literal.
I could be wrong you might be the coolest person on Earth, might be a democrat, might be on of those christians who doesn't take the bible literaly, maybe even an evolutionist,
hell you might be a lesbian or has gay orgies i dont know, you might be eating shrimp having a gay orgy right now i dont know.
But when you say things like "You sound scared and lost" I just take off on the whole "Christianity".

Some of us aren't against Christianity, we just try to get along, which is something ALL religions need to start doing instead of telling the non-Christians that our beliefs are wrong and that yours is the one true religion and for the non-christians to quit insulting and bashing also.
News flash, if Christianity was the one true religion, then everyone would be Christians? Wouldn't we? If it is so good for everyone and so perfect then we would all be followers of said religion.
Oh but wait, we have this little thing called freedom....freedom of choice, thought and actions. We are all different, and we all have a choice. People have the choice to NOT follow a religious concept if they do not want to. We have the choice to study and ask questions and search for the spirituality that completes us as a human being. Christianity might be perfect for some people and I am very happy they have that sense of security.
But don't feel sorry for those who aren't christian or who don't believe in your Jesus. Believe me, I have no such pity for people who don't believe in my Goddess and God because I respect and honor their decisions.
Don't you think that if more people showed respect towards anothers spiritual belief, we might can get along?
Oh and as far as the name calling, not all of us are like that. I have been called much worse than what I see people calling Christians simply because I am Pagan.

Not against Christianity. Not against Christians either... Against people who use the Bible and their Religion to justify their hatred of other people. Hiding behind God while they point their fingers at other people, as if they were hiding behind their dad saying "my daddy is bigger than yours". Hypocrites, fanatics and looneys who feel everyone should treat them with the utmost of respect, while they dump on other people. These are the people that get attacked... and if it appears that others support this, then the generalizations get thrown out "christians do this... christians do that"
But it's the same for all religions. I mean, you just said you feel sorry for all people who don't believe... I'm sure many of them feel sorry for you because you don't believe like they do.

Know this, I'm Druid. I live a Druid life. I follow a Druid path. I'm not against Christians or Christianity in the least. What I AM against is the self-proclaimed Christians who find the need to shove their religion down my throat. Preaching is fine - when it's done in a church setting where people come of their own will to hear it. It is NOT however a Christian requisite to try to convert any and every person they come across who expresses a non-belief in the religion, or a choice not to follow it for themselves. Freedom of Religion also means Freedom FROM Religion.

It's prophecised about in the Bible.
The reason why people are like this is because they are blinded by evil.
Jesus was right about Christians being persecuted. Just look at Islam. I don't see half the insults hurled in their direction as I do Christianity. Those who bash beliefs are really insecure about their own. The more we inch towards the last days, the more persecution will be evident towards Christianity. Pray for them. God bless.

That's insulting. Why do you complain that people insult your beliefs and then turn around and insult ours? I dislike the current form of Christianity because it is hypocritical and hate-filled.
You may not be a bad person, but many Christian people are, and claim that they are doing the work of god even when it is based in hatred and intolerance. I am not scared or lost, I am intelligent and educated.

People aren't against Christianity, just the Christians who continually throw their ignorance and bigotry into other people's faces, and continually spout scripture that has absolutely no meaning to the question, then tell people they are going to hell if they don't agree with what they are saying. I'm Christian, but I find I have to make fun of these fools as well.

intel_knight has it pretty down-packed.
Furthermore, you asked that question... and then look what you wrote, "I feel very sorry for all the people who don't believe in Jesus. You sound scared and lost."
Therefore, it'd be safe to assume you are against all other religions.
Hypocrite.

I am not against Christianity as a belief system or a code of life. I might get a bit testy when Christians try to pass laws to force others to bend to the will of their religion in a society that claims to not establish such laws. These laws come in many forms from the "In God we trust" slogans and now forcing our tax dollars to go to religious institutions so that they may proselytize.
If you want to be a "christian" and follow the teachings of Jesus and it adds value to your life, then go for it. As it does not add value to my life, do not pass laws forcing me to bend to your will.
We have a free society, lets all work to keep it that way.
I do not make fun or call you names either.

I am not against Christians, I am just against the way they behave. Referring to the Bible for everything, saying that Jesus' way is the only way, dictating what is right and wrong, when the Bible clearly says, "Thou shall not judge, least ye be judged", and yet they point the finger and act very hypocritical. Christians contradict themselves. That is why people do not like them.
