The Toilet is the proper place to vomit.

Practical reasons: The smaller drain, and trap of a sink has trouble handling blown chunks, and a backup is quite possible. The sink also generally has a smaller basin, which makes missing easier. Toilets present a larger target, which is more capable of dealing with solids.

Ettiquite reason: It is considered rude to soil the sink of a host. The toilet is a more appropriate receptacle for extreme messes, and potential lingering smells. It is also considered crass to leave the rest room with vomit on your face, and if the sink has vomit in it, it will be hard to use that to wash your face off, thus requiring you to make another ettiquite blunder, by wiping vomit on the good guest towels.

Esoteric reason: Vomit is generally caused by overindulging in the distilled spirits in alcohols. As such, it is considered a religious experience, a veritable exorcism. It is only right that you do so in a holy manner, on your knees, sacrificing your esophagal lining to the porcelain god, and praying for fogiveness.

when i need to puke the last thing on my mind is degradation or comfort.
Normally i would try making it to the toilet and see it as an additional bonus if i don't miss.
the further out your aim, the messier the clean up process, especially if you leave it till the following day and it is all dry or just pasty.

The sink is a bad idea. Especially if the vomit is very lumpy. You will have to scoop it out some time or another...

And the absolute worst place ... splashing it on the floor. Inevitably you will find it on the wall tiles too.

Hope this answer your question.

Always in the toilet. That's what it's there for to get rid of bodily excretions. If you're vomiting anyway you probably wouldn't worry too much about degradation, it's degrading enough in the first place unless caused by illness.

I've never heard of anyone puking in a sink on purpose. Puke in the toilet. It goes away much faster that way. I would imagine your sink would get clogged or at least stink for a long time.

In the toilet . No question about it. Makes alot more sense to flush it down then get it all over the sink gross!

Definitely the toilet, you can flush the vomit away. Unless your sink has a garbage disposal you could have a serious clog.

oh yes the sink is a very comfortable place. You surely don't want to be seen barfing in a toilet. People are very judgemental when it comes to barfing in a toilet or sink.

Depends on the reason for vomiting, sometimes there needs to be degradation. Also, no one wants to garbage disposal their own vomit.... especially if it isn't your sink.

Toilet can be flushed, leading to the easiest cleanup. When it comes down to it, it should be a practical decision, not one based on psychological associations.
