Use it as you would any other book.

If other books used as coasters, by all means us the bible book as coaster. Really nothing different or mysterious about it, nor does it have any secret powers.

It is a book of stories (the Old Testament). Some very good stories. The New Testament (the apostles stories of Christ's life and then "letters") suffers greatly by comparison. In that they are neither gifted writers, nor do they possess gifted minds, the New Testament is a bore.

So by all means use the book as a coaster. And if you spill a blood-red wine on it, hope that it seeps into the second half.

Well, in my opinion, it's wrong to use any book as a coaster. If you feel the need to destroy reading material then use a magazine. They end up in the trash anyway!

Bibles are good for many things. Why not for that?

There is nothing special about a bible, it is a book, like any other.

Some people would say that the more often you use your bible, the better.

Not a thing wrong with that. It is just a book, you are not suppose to worship books or worship them for whats in them.

Disrespectful to who or what? At what time in the printing process of the modern bible does it become a 'holy' item?

Just make sure you remove the good parts first. Song of Solomon, for example, is a beautiful love story. And Revelation - wow what a fantasy novel!

Why would you even have a Bible if you feel like that. Try reading it

Its kind of a waste of its power, isn't it? Use its pages to get the fireplace started, to line the birdcage, or be environmentally friendly and just recycle that trash.
